Scrog questions

I fuck up every run in some way, lol

The current one Im spending too much time in veg, not an accident though
I want to entirely overfill the net.

I want to see just how much I can pull this way, not concerned about mold.
im no fan of trimming so if it averages out Im fine with harvesting larger crops less often.

I get bored easily, once you know you can pull off good quality and quantity consistently its fun to play with shit.

In fact if all I was doing is setting it up and knocking it down the same way each time. I would lose interest.

I know because it has happened.
It becomes work.

This way is still work but its balanced
With some of that nervous energy I love/hate some much.

I get it right, run it a few times then inevitably I start fucking with shit.

My run going now is only partly good i stunted damn near half my room lol

But the seeds even though they are stunted look like they deserve a proper run so ill be running them again at least once before i shit can em :)

Different strokes budd :)

I actually prefer string over wire because it has some give to it and wont cut into plants as bad

Plus if the wire uncoated it can get rusty.

But i havent tried all of them :)


Also to the strains thing some plants just gro squat with those i find single cola grows are better for those strains

I used to think that same thing so i understand where your coming from, but after giving the wire a shot i got better yields and didnt experiance the wire cutting the plant like i thought i would.

I know eberyone has a diff way to scrog an im not saying dont use string, hell any way you scrog is going to be better than no scrog imo. I grew some pure indicas that were very squat, if your familier with bog genetics line then you know what i mean. They did much better for me in scrog and saved the line for me. But i feel ya in that everyone has a diff goal. I dont want colas over 6-10 or so inches anymore because on average the donkey dicks will attract mold more than the medium size ones. I used to only grow bushes that would have 10 or so huge main colas over a ft long each, but i get so pissed when i saw mold. Everyone local mold situation is diff tho.
I had a local friend loose a leg size cola on a haze plant (according to him) overnight.
One time i went to disney land for a week and lost a cycle to mold ~10 plants~ so my personal experiance has shaped my style.

I figure if the old scool measure of light says that my light can penetrate 2.5 feet i want my canopy to be shorter then that

I too shoot for around a 1 to 1.5 foot cola with the top 6to 10 inches being buds

I fing scrog gives you the same weight as bigwr buds just restructured at least thats how ive seen it

Although i wonder what my weight would be like with a scrog of donkey dicks haha

Im actually thinking of splitting half my room to make a double stacked led grow
To increase my grams per foot count

Thinking 2 3x6 SOG stacked ontop of each other
Each level 4 ft high

No matter how careful you are , do not use a heat gun around your plants lol....
new veg gives me room to veg a couple weeks in final pot size, I’ll get the tops on the other two this week.

Not sure if I can explain this correctly or not but Ill try.

Its an idea I'm kicking around.

In the process of filling my screen I always get stuff that wants to be taller than the rest so like everyone I try to weave to tie it down.

My thought is just let it go and allow the entire screen to fill up in veg.
Then right before I flip take an actual hedge clipper in there and mow the canopy dead flat.

It would for sure sacrifice a few bud sites but it would save a lot of time and would assure the apical dominance would be in check.

Thoughts?

It would for sure freak some people out. Lol

I dissagree with the 2.5 ft light pen. I know thats what they say, but its not what i see. At least not in my scrogs. Sure id agree with the 2.5 ft if grown upright bushes, but my scrogs are so dense that anything past the screen wont grow. If i get under it and look up i cant see the light, but i can put full shade houseplants down there and they are happy. I generally weave a few budsites per hole tho, so at canopy the buds are all nearly touching at harvest. I dont count branches as part of the cola, im not sure what the community guidline on terms is im only active a couple months a year, but ya we are saying the same thing. As to scrog yield vs upright cola grows i found that for me scrog is reliably higher yield easier, the average plant for me unscrogged is 8 oz, but i got a alaska thunderfuck give me 1.5 of pure fire as a upright. Honestly 2.5 ft of colas pure bud. That was a golden plant... unfortunatly i was unable to buy more clones amd didnt take cuts thinking id get more easily. Scrogs easily give me 1# plus with almost no effort. I just hate the process of staking up plants or using yoyos etc. When i was a 4 card medical grower it came to be a full time job all day tending... then i switched to scrogging this way and my workload cut dramatically. Yields and quality increased. Trim time is faster when you scrog too because the bud structure is managed and uniform. Im also in the camp that would take a golfball kush bud over a big cola, my arthritis doesnt like to hold big heavy stuff haha

Weaving and vine clips imo help, but everyone has their own path to success, theres a ton of ways to scrog correctly. Ive done it both ways an i think the differance isnt huge, just comes down to personal preferance. A happy gardener is a big factor in the final yield.

Yeah, I like coldsmokes way, just never tried it.

I think he just grows bushes and drops the screen on then does his cleanup.

Saves a lot of fucking around I suspect

Thats something i have in testing right now lol

I have un pruned trees that are about 3 ft and i left the larf to see what she does in my environment .

But i agree to the net thing ,nothing grows well under my canopy either to dense to get light.


But i dont agree on the penetration thing
Cause i have seen guys grow HUGE trees and do massive defoliation and they have hard dense fully developed nugs down to the dirt

I beleive the guys name is mango somthing

And after i finally found some of growing for funs grows he does too :)

Im quite impressed with how.much ive streched my little light .

If my other side of the room wouldnt have went all fuckery i might have come close to my weight goal of 4 lbs on 850 watts :)

Gota see what my srcog net does so i can get an estimate cause if i hit 2 pounds in my net
Then i KNOW i can hit 4 all day with 2 nets plus the walkway filled :)

Im also way suprised that my canopy stayed as even as it did with a single light sorce WAY UP HIGH lol
