Yeah, I like coldsmokes way, just never tried it.

I think he just grows bushes and drops the screen on then does his cleanup.

Saves a lot of fucking around I suspect
Having done it both ways i dont really think the clips take much time. I grow a bush, fold the plant in half, and place the screen, this fills at least half the screen instantly, then i veg a few days to let it recover and flip it. Weave it to the edges of the screen for a week or 2 in the stretch, then clip down in week 3 anything thats trying to be tall. It doesnt really feel like its much work at all, but then again i love to spend a fair bit of time in there an it gives me something to do a few min a day. I may do thicker runs again an not weave or clip soon as i find my next keeper strain, ive popped around 200 beans in the last 12 months an only 1 plant seemed worth it so its going into its second run right now. These have all been a quantum kush cross with a purple strain, but its a f1 cross... so there hasnt been (till now) that standout. Lots of open bud, minimal color, and going 10 weeks. This one finished in 8, oily, dense, and purple. Then its off to digging in the next bag of beans thats afganhi x 90's juicy fruit. Hopefully that hunt wont take so long.. a 40 year deep guy gave me one of my handfulls of each bag o seeds. Dude runs a freakin farm. Fills a barn with hang drying plants each fall.

Sounds like you have it handled though

Shit bud if i member right your grow looked pretty legit

And after i finally found some of growing for funs grows he does too :)

He needs to post more pics though so ass holes like me belive him :P

After so many years ive had a lot of friends run into issues. Everything from home invasions to dea. Ive got friends 6 ft deep. My photos are from before i got married, my wife wont let any photos happen, let alone be posted online. I begged her to let me enter the solo cup challenge because its tiny an what harm could it be? Nope. Almost lost posting privliges... i think my last posted grow is "scrog overkill" like 5 years ago.

Not sure if I can explain this correctly or not but Ill try.

Its an idea I'm kicking around.

In the process of filling my screen I always get stuff that wants to be taller than the rest so like everyone I try to weave to tie it down.

My thought is just let it go and allow the entire screen to fill up in veg.
Then right before I flip take an actual hedge clipper in there and mow the canopy dead flat.

It would for sure sacrifice a few bud sites but it would save a lot of time and would assure the apical dominance would be in check.

Thoughts?

It would for sure freak some people out. Lol

Please go for it...If it works without much loss i'm in. I'v considered doing this a few times but I have a couple patients who depend on my grows and quite frankly I haven't had the balls to do it.

I basically do the same i grow it big and bushy

Then when its at the right height i set the net on top and pull the plant like an octopus under the net with all the big tops going in opposite directions to the edges let em recover for 3 days and flip

Of course ill tuck a few here or there but i let the plants stretch do the work

Turns out perfectly depending on the strain cause you usually get a 1to 2 ft stretch and then i defoiliate op till week 3 then i let it ride plucking off leaves here and there :)

But i always try to over grow my net

AS IT IS EASIER TO REMOVE A FEW
THEN HAVE HOLES TO WASTE LIGHT :)

I dont think it would hurt shit in fact its a good idea just give a few days to recover but not enough to get all uneven.

Latley i been thinking of ditching the scrog

But they are just so easy to max an area out :)
I gotta admit Im tired of crawling around the net for feed water and maintenance. Im probably gonna run a few more then grow a couple standard.

I've switched back and forth in the past.

I honestly feel any loss will be offset by the uniformity. But you are right.
Its hard to pull the trigger. Lol
Just considering it a final topping
Ive done things like this, didnt hurt yield as far as i could tell. I think i only did it outdoor tho. I did a 6x6 outdoor scrog and did just what your saying. It was outdoor tho, so the sun may have just negated the damage better than a indoor would. I think i got like 2.5 off that an it was only like 3 ft off the ground...

If it wasn't so wet here Id have an outdoor scrog from hell.
I can see it but like I said, too wet here

I built a rollout tarp for the rain and shook off the dew each morning, used calcarb. Outdoor is hell here. Almost not even worth it, but still worth it. There was minimal mold on that plant, but i think butterflys killllllled me. Im not for sure it was them... but i think it was. The result was worms/larva in the buds. I thought the butterflys were pretty amd harmless so i never chased em off. Every year since i dont let em land on the plants of i can help it and i havent had a repeat. If not for that issue it woulda been over 3# easily and a happier trim.

Ive been lucky.
I live in the woods and I can see huge
Webs in the trees that I think are caterpillars but so far they haven't tried to steal my weed.

i have a couple scrog questions. Iv done some searching and getting mixed reviews and the posts are like. 8-10 years old.

So a little back ground info this is my 3rd or 4th scrog and every time it's a learning experience my previous grows I'd get a male or some plants didn't perform good so this time I'm only scroging 2 plants
I started them from seed. Moby dick feminized. They went into my grow room once they sprouted so they been in veg for 6-7 weeks now. My screen is starting to fill in pretty good.
1st question should I let the screen fill in more befor flipping to 12/12 or can I flip and keep tucking untill it's filled?

2nd question: should I start trimming under the screen when there in veg or what till there on 12/12 and I'm done tucking?
As you can see in the pic it's like a jungle under there and I don't want to cut anything good so should I wait untill they start grown in up through the screen? (Sorry it's kinda a shitty picture)

I would like to use anything that's not gonna make the screen for clones and a mother plant

I hope this post isn't to confusing. If there's anything else I could/shouldn't be doing that you notice please let me know
Thanks in advance

Yea I'd let the plants fill about 80% of the screen. I have just flipped mine.IMG_20180419_205633.jpg
