Hello RIU community, My name is Mij Toe and i have a friend who has asked me to open a thread here to help him figure out what an valid setup for some plants would be.
So, he has ordered himself 1 G13 Sweet Amnesia and 1 Emerald Triangle Seeds Black Berry OG. As I am sure you know Amnesia is a sativa dom plant, and the last is an indica dom plant.
Due to restricted buget he opted for a 250W hps and he also plans to build a DIY grow tent from panda sheets and pvc pipes. He is aiming for an 70x70cm grow tent surface, thinking that that's the surface a 250w hps can handle succesfully and optimally. The height of the tent is not really decided,
The medium will be soil,
His questions are the following:
1. what kind of grow method should he apply for decent yields and reasonable harvest times. he was thinking of SOG, due to its simplicity and the "dont put all ur eggs in the same basket" principle. regarding SOG how many clones shold he put under that 250W and also how old the clones should be before they are put into flowering? also keeping in mind that there are 2 strains 1 sativa dom and the other indica dom, what would the challenges in SOG be ?
2. Also my buddy wants to include an air extractor with Carbon filter. he wants that the intake to be in the roof above the hps, the filter outside of the tent and the exaust thru a small window. how much noise does a small extractor make and how should he fix the fan not to vibrate and stuff?
3. time-wise, would SOG with clones be faster than LST and/or cropping the 2 plants ?
4. how big of pots shoud a sog grow need ? height is not an issue, but he would want to fill up the space nicely, keeping away from Scrog, because it's a pain in the ass in such a small space
5. how hot does a 250w get ? does it need a cool tube ? or the air extracted from the roof of the tent should be enough ?
Also hydro is not an option for him at the moment, and he also has a very low budget for this project.
Keeping all of the above in mind he is eager to hear advice suggestions and other constructive things from the vast experience of this community.

He read alot on growing but also wanted to hear other oppinions and methods from more experienced growers like yourself, acknoleging that there are other ways to skin a cat and maybe his method has room for improvement. 
Maybe you can share your oppinion about this soon to be grow, it would be highly apreciated
