this guy growinman is telling me that you dont need to make your bubble cloner lightproof, that the part holding your clone can be letting light in. he also says its just like having a clear reservoir....... I think thats just asking for problems.
what does everyone else think? should the res be lightproof or is it ok for lights to be shining where your roots are?

I will go with yes because I think roots should in the dark and if it is lightproof, less chance of algae forming. I know some say that roots don't need to be kept in the dark and grow in clear plastic cups and stuff but I've never heard anyone say it does better to have light hit the roots so I'll stick with the fact that roots should be kept in the dark and just fed fertilizers. Sort of like the government does with us........keep us in the dark and feed us shit.

I am voting for no. Your nutrients are going to be non-existant for cloning. No chance for algae to form. Algae likes the same stuff your plant likes...nitrate and phospate. Keep your tank sterile and change water often. One thing I am finding out is that clones do much better leaving the leafs untrimmed with a bubblecloner. I am not sure, but my guess is that leaving the fan leaves on helps them transpire more moisture making it more vital to develop roots quicker. Kinda strange that it operates on the exact opposite principle of a humidity dome.
