If you bother to read the Holder memo, which I quoted, you will realize that it is not possible to "violate" it.

"Nor does this guidance preclude investigation or prosecution, even when there is clear and unambiguous compliance with existing state law, in particular circumstances where investigation or prosecution otherwise serves important federal interests. "

Right, I get it, it is double talk, it's political, expect double talk always.

Name anecdotal evidence that people are being busted if they are state compliant.

I'm no fan of war. The Iraq war ended on the time table that Bush established and it only ended because the Iraqis refused to establish a status of forces agreement with the US, so that is not an Obama accomplishment.

The news papers and blogs are filled with the Obama crackdown on state-legal medical operations, so I won't rehash it. The Holder memo that everybody quotes as Obama's deference to state law end with this paragraph:

"Finally, nothing herein precludes investigation or prosecution where there is a reasonable basis to believe that compliance with state law is being invoked as a pretext for the production or distribution of marijuana for purposes not authorized by state law. Nor does this guidance preclude investigation or prosecution, even when there is clear and unambiguous compliance with existing state law, in particular circumstances where investigation or prosecution otherwise serves important federal interests. "

Now, I ask you, does that sentence promise the feds will leave legally compliant medical marijuana operations alone?
that's just a "we reserve the right".

the overall policy was to lower the priority of MMJ, same stance that rosenblum, who you heap praise on, takes.

and i just laugh my ass off at your expectation and subsequent butthurtness that the president is going to do our work for us.

laughable.

It really isn't too difficult to find evidence of Obama's reversal on medical marijuana.

"Two Takes on a MemoMomentum swung decidedly against marijuana laws last June, when the U.S. Department of Justice issued a memo on medical marijuana stating that cultivating and selling marijuana are activities that violate the Controlled Substances Act, regardless of state law.
“States thought as long as they’re following state law they were not going to be targeted. But that hasn’t been the case,” says Morgan Fox, a spokesman for the Marijuana Policy Project.
Instead, the Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Attorney's office interpreted the Cole memo (named after the author James Cole, a deputy attorney general) as an open season to target medical marijuana dispensaries, advocates say."

What exactly do you mean by "do our work for us"?

"Marijuana dispensaries were raided and shuttered last year."

This is as close as the article ever comes to naming even ONE SINGLE FUCKING CASE of state compliant patients, dispensaries or doctors getting busted.

I am convinced that you CAN NOT find such evidence because it does not exist. Believe me, I am looking.

I understand what the op was saying but he presented it wrong. In answer to his question and to summarize his meanings; no, we should not have enslaved blacks or any other race, period. Although because we did, and then subsequently stopped enslaving people, we gave their offspring and future generations opportunity to succeed which they may have not had if slavery was never enstilled.

Federal authorities are even considering pursuing property owners with threats of asset forfeiture, and newspapers selling ad space. How clear does it have to be for you to finally admit that Obama has amped up this war?

This is Nancy (to the left of Karl Marx) Pelosi talking:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/03/nancy-pelosi-medical-marijuana_n_1474854.html

"Federal authorities have also seized property from landlords who rent space to growers, threatening them with prosecution, and authorities have even considered taking action against newspapers selling ad space to dispensaries."

How about this as a federal policy for people who break state laws: let the state make arrests for violations of state law!

how has all progress on cannabis laws come about? the president?

:dunce:
The president could remove cannabis from the controlled substances act this afternoon and end federal involvement in federal cannabis prohibition today. Leave it to the states. If your state wants to put you in prison for the rest of your life for smoking a joint that is their business, not the feds.

He will. I am predicting it, call me on that later. Obama is going to reschedule cannabis in his 2nd term.

I don't think even Coahuila Ave would be sufficient to celebrate such a momentous day, seeing as how it is still illegal in Mexico.
