1) less all around work i think... since i pretty much have to do everything on my own i look for anyway i can make it easier... cutting out watering will save a lot of time...

2) hydroton is reusable as a grow medium.. just rinse, remove roots, and your good to go.. soil isnt quite reusable like that..

3) its hard to dump soil in the winter without looking suspicious... i know there are other means of disposing the dirt, but there are somethings i am willing to go out of my way for and some im not.. i dont feel the grow medium should be that way.. and it gets old driving into the country to throw out dirt...

4) finally is just the speed and size they grow... since they grow faster and flower quicker its worth it to me... and with me wanting to get to a 60 day cycle i need all the help i can get with keeping things moving..

and i know you know how much dirt you accumulate doing a 60 day run... i would just go crazy i think...

i mean i do have a partner in this.. but his job is strictly to get rid of the commercial stuff.. we didnt want to be involved in the others part just to keep things safer i guess.. if i ever needed any help he would help.. but this way works better.. i love working on the girls and spending time with them myself.. just gotta make things as easy as i can ya know!

ill say it now and mean it everyday.. you just CANT beat organic grown weed tho... the flavor is definatly much more exploited withorganics than with hydro.. it just tastes better in dirt...

ya i hear you. i waz so tierd of watering mixing up and watering, and mixing up and watering each plant. thats when i came up with my 32 gall. trash can mix up 32 gallons of nutes that last me a couple weeks of feedings pending on what cycle im in veg or bloom. this made my job way easier. b4 it took me 45 min to an hour to water. now only 10 min. i take care of my grow by myself also. AND NOW I HAVE 3 GROWS GOING.. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

yea yea yea.. you are kickin my ass mr 3 grows... LOL biggest thing is my grow room is upstairs in my house... so everything i get i have to lug upstairs... which is a pain and messy as fuck... just really it becomes to much of a pain to do.. if i could turn my mud room into a grow room or build an enclosed walkway to my garage and turn that into one (enclosed walkway so people dont see me going back and forth to the garage a million times a day) then id go back to dirt.. someday i will go back to dirt.. i already know it... hydro just fits the situation better right now i guess..

its has to work for your situation, and it seems you have it figured out. great job.
fuck my wife gets so pissed off at me cuz i have every room in the house for growing. LOL the master bath, a bedroom, my shed is setup for emergency grow room. and half of my back yard with the green house.

i would have it setup like that if i had the loot right now.. i will have it setup like that in about a year though!! ideally i want to turn my garage into the grow room... its about 15x30x15... i already have it figured out to... the back of it would be the clone room, the veg room in the middle, and the flower room towards the front.. the enclosed walkway from the house to the garage would be where i hung to dry... in the garage itself i will line it with insulation and then sound deadening material.. then put up walls... build the 3 rooms... run all the exhaust to the mud room... run the electrical from the house.... it would be a HUGE undertaking... but it would be badass in the end...

hell ya it wouldbe.but in the end wow what you would see.

thats the motivation... its all based on how well my new setup does.. the better it goes the more i can expand... but i have to get a bunch of projects around the house done before i can start the garage idea.. gotta please the lady as best as i can before i go playin around like that...

6-02 update day 47


this is going to be a BIG update... got a LOT to talk about.. and a shit load of pics to put up.. so it'll be over a few posts too...

where to begin... where to begin...

well i like i said earlier i got one of my ebb and flow systems up and running last night... works great.. i found that a 12 plant site layout in the flower room will be ideal... i might lessen it to 9 even if this go good... but it would be anymore than 12.. this will give plenty of space for the girls to stretch out, room enough for me to navigate, and allow PLENTY of light penetration.. well... this is all my basic idea.. it really will also depend on how big i can get them in the 4 weeks of veg growth.. if i can manage to fit a couple more in the flower room due to smaller girls than i think ill have of course i will do that... so anyways... that was a 6 hour project but it just means im getting closer to my new setup...

secondly the sprout are... well they just are... there are officially 2 happy BB sprouts, 2 that are looking like they are going to make it.. and the 1 MGS... its super healthy looking.. well as healthy as a sprout can be.. some im hoping shes a she and no a him or a shim...

the other girls are coming along perfectly.. i couldnt ask for it to be looking any better right now... a couple of them have lost almost all their leaves... most of them are starting to yellow.. and the others are starting to thin out their leaves... they are all showing good girth growth... getting nice and fat.. all and all i think the 11th is a good bet..

real quick.. have any of you tried, read about, or have any input on this "48 hours of dark" before chop down theory/idea??

finally the pics.. so i am splitting these between 3 posts.. i dont trust the server to load them all on one post.. its screwed me before... the first pic is just one of my dog... i put glasses on her and she was bitchy that day and well you can see the pic... the next are just some comparison pics of buds and things to compare sizes too.. i threw a pic in there from underneath the canopy... i was laying under them pulling leaves and thought i'd take a pic.. it was cool because you can see the light beams penetrating the canopy with the camera... theres some pics of the sprouts thatll be in there.. and just some other pics.. just a BUNCHA shit... anyways.. theres a pic of a stem that is split off... i didnt realize that one of my girls did that.. the pic after the stem shot is the colas from that plant... enjoy...

if any of you plan on choking yourself while spankin it remember to have a spotter in the room... just incase...
