My 2-plant 50" "thicket" on day 33 just before lights-on....Got off early and caught an alcohol buzz on this Friday afternoon....I totally f_cked up and didn't add the Pk13/14 to the mix when feeding, then to make matters worst I added more Canna Boost to the mixing container, instead of my 3oz containers I dump in per-measured later in the week. Looking back at my complaints about this strain not being filled in yet enough for the PK made me feel better, so I dropped the Cannazyme adds by 50% to compensate for the PPM increase of the extra boost...now I feel like a drunken genius...tomorrow we see if I should start the 12-step plan. Back to positive energy....Just thinking, if every one of these top shoots fills in and fattens up what a grow this could turn out to be (the beer's talking again, I ain't that optimistic).

Pcinla, as an SNL fan for years, I seem to remember a lot of comedians come from Canada to (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Canadian_comedians).
Geez Jela, I was surprised by a name or two on that list. Samantha Bee from The Daily Show? But yeah, there have been a lot of Canucks on SNL over the years -- Dan Ackroyd, Mike Myers, Martin Short, Norm MacDonald and Phil Hartman stand out -- and presumably they can thank, other than the fact they're all talented, Lorne Michaels who's also from Toronto. So in keeping with the new requirement on grow updates -- we had a heat wave; I don't have air conditioning, so I lost all of my clones in Hempy starter cups; will start again when the weather is conducive and summer-time visits are over -- that they come with a video blast from the past, I offer this. The core of Steppenwolf was Johnny Kay & The Sparrow, a band from Toronto that like Neil Young and Joni Mitchell from that same era, migrated to the U.S. to seek fame. They broke up before reforming in Los Angeles, with a new member or two, as Steppenwolf in 1967.

Saturday is here, and thank god no hang-over from alcohol...had to inspect the plants before coffee to see if they survived whatever the hell I fed them during my stupor last night.....Steppenwolf hit the spot Pcinla......whoops you brought up the name "Neil Young".....a favorite of mine.

While you were drinking at home last evening, I was out drinking in public. I went a saw Leon Russell last night, still sang well, and played fantastic for a mere 71. There were a lot of folks there from their late 60's into their 80's in attendance. So in my mid 50's I kinda felt like one of the youngsters at the concert.

btw; You sure have a bunch of spears for just 2 girls.

You got me on that one Who-kie...I totally lucked out...like those times when I was in my 20's during the stone-age when I couldn't remember how I got home.

H-herk, yes it does take some courage to take a perfectly good looking plant and snap the stem over and 4 beers is just about right, even if its Tsing Tao...I remember my first time, I was pissed and out of options for height control...turned out great though so now I don't feel so bad about doing it. So glad your new SW's are budding after your bad experience last run. I'll rep you for just for going another round brother. I remeber well the Neil Young "Star's and Bars" album cover...like a picture looking up through a transparent bar floor, with his face smashed down against it and the bar stool and bar-maid with fish-net stocking and red high heels above him....awesome composition!

Dude, Leon is truly a soul-capturing individual. Last I saw him was SNL? with him and Elton John singing together....as far as the age of the crowd, the same could be said here about Joe Walsh and Ian Anderson shows...so many dedicated older folks than myself...hard to believe. Who knows, maybe the fountain of youth, though not so obvious, may right there in our grasp.

36 days of 12/12, week 5 is over and onto week 6. Not much to report....they drink, I feed every other day. Smell is up...earthy, musty with light hints of fruit. Stick'um all over. I was just remembering, someone stepped into the thread earlier and said I should have added 3 or 4 more plants in this tent and done bigger buckets....WTF?

jela - glad I finally caught up on your setup and ladies.

Awesome job so far. I too ran out of height and have tips ~10" away, no problems yet and today is the end of wk9(flowering). I love the deep greens with the SGS lighting, none of that purple/pink grow room stuff, this is easier to see what's up.

I like your setup, and when I set my new place up, I'll remember yours.

What did you have your trimmers in? I saw it was a shot glass, but what's in it?
Also, could you PM me that beer pizza recipe? hefeweizen is one of my fav wheat beers.
... and I learned that beers = neglect for my ladies... I'm forgetful high, even more so tipsy/drunk.

+rep to you sir.

Loving the node spacing on the SWOG. You're gonna have some massive spears there Jela. Gotta agree with MrE, small buckets do not mean small plants. I've never grown in a bucket larger than 5qts, and have good results using folgers coffee cans. I am looking forward to trying my 2 gallon buckets out though, especially with the results you have with your 2 gallon girls Jela. Props man, looking forward to watching these girls swell.

Thanks hb, I really didn't mean it to be that level...but I've never put a screen in a grow before...it's really meant to keep the plants from falling over. In fact I need to raise it soon as things fatten up. Maybe a screen does some kind of magic for plants if not simply keeping them spaced apart for even light distribution.

Nice great for a first grow, just wait till u perfect it, if u have not already...I bow to the master...
First grow for these lights, so far so good Who-kie...but "master"? Oh, you must be talking about my second job at the bait shop down on the lake (LOL).

I take it like a knee-jerk automatic newbie thing...I was there too when I first started. This same tent saw 6 plants in dirt when I first got it and the big pots. Experience is the best teacher...I'm just glad I learned from that and picked a way to do things that suits my lifestyle and my medication needs.

DJ, glad to have you aboard...I spotted your grow (subbed) and it's pretty nice with these lights and your most awesome cab. Your WW colas are beautifully colored and "chunky". The shot glass has IPA in it, I rotate scissors back and forth in it to clean off the resin you can't get by scraping for scissor hash. Enjoy the pizza...it's really easy once you get the hang of it...weighing ingredients makes it even quicker (beats mixing nutes). Oh, don't be a typical American and overload the ingredients...go light and taste this dough my friend.

Fingers crossed on the swellin stone...since you are a screen guru, I saw your reference to "SWOG" and immediately thought "SCREEN WAY OFF GROUND", (LOL). I think I told you I've done the 5qt "handy pales" on more than one occasion when space is an issue and actually have a little Bubblicious flowering right now in one...in a little biddy 2x2 tent. Other than increase watering frequency I have no complaints...with my hole spacing I get an even 1/2gal feed with slight overflow.

I got 186g my last harvest in a 3 gallon container. I switched to 5 gallon more so I wouldn't need to water as often. For me it is more of a matter of finding something that works for my situation, where I often need to be out of town for a few days at a time. Have you found that you water less often with the LEDs than with HID?

Once you learn to train plants to grow under artificial lights and give them a good environment and let them do their thing it's really amazing. I'm trying to figure out what to do to get 4 plants into a 2x2 area in a perpetual setup. I really doubt I'll be in containers larger than 1 gal.

Hb, yeah that watering often thing came up with me too on several strains over the years...this SK OG is definitely one of them....but no, I can't really associate watering frequency to LED's...at least my pair of 180W jumbo's didn't cause it. It happened with the HID's to on occasion. Hope you didn't think I was knocking the 3-5g bucket thing...StevieStoner is a good example of a 5gal producer....I just thought it funny that someone would jump in for one post and say, you ought to do this, and you ought to do that...not knowing my rep with 2g's.

MrED, Sounds like what the 2L folks could do, or the 5q pales would fit.... if it weren't perpectual, I'd say you could train 1 girl to fill a 2x2 Secret Jardin. I've got one for vegging pairs of plants.

Now here's a successful 5g hempy man....bet your Black Jack is smelling sweet about now in those jars....will go ahead and post the pizza dough recipe. You might want some of that trim to pretty up the dough.

hey... how come I can't find a man that cooks???
You just have to look for a man that "caters" to your liking Who-kie. Only downside is that men that cook mess up a lot of dishes, and them dishes needs a washin! My sweet wife told me long ago, "if you do the cooking, I'll do the the dishes". So we both got lucky when we found each other.

1-1/3 cups Flat beer (essentially one bottle)

3-3/4 cups All-purpose flour (475g if weighed)
3 TBSP Sugar

1-1/2 tsp Salt
1-1/2 TBSP Butter
1-1/2 tsp. Active Dry yeast

Add to machine in order above and run the dough cycle.
When complete, place on floured surface and shape into thick disk.
Divide the disk into quarters with a cutter.
Take each quarter and shape into a ball.
Lightly knead each ball into a UFO shape for placement into baggies for the fridge. Just stretch the top surface outward with thumbs while tucking dough up underneath with other fingers.
Insert in baggies and place in fridge for at least a couple of hours as this helps you to roll a 10”-12” thin crust. If not cold you will get a thicker crust that shrinks back to a smaller diameter before you get it in the oven. We go about 7 days in fridge for extra flavor. 14 days is even better.
To roll just place the UFO on a floured surface and press with fingers tips until you get the initial round shape, then use a rolling pin to do the rest.
Place rolled crust on pizza pan that has been sprinkled with corn meal.
Brush with olive oil and top lightly with your favorite sauce, cheeses & toppings. (too many ingredients makes a soggy center)
Place in very bottom of 450° oven for 5 minutes then place on top rack for another 5 minutes.
Remove and let cool for 5 minutes before slicing.

Jela10’s tips:
The beer doesn't have to be flat but can't be cold either
Use Hefeweisen beer
Use bread flour
Use agave nectar in place of the sugar.
Use oil instead of butter….butter browns and burns quicker at high temps making the crust a little crispy…we use a neutral flavored oil instead like grape seed oil or olive oil so the beer yeast flavor isn’t masked.
Sprinkle some crushed trim leaves on the dough just before the final rollout…looks like herbs...must be herbs.
