So Stoned...Theory of Life...

Your ignorance about science leads you to make incredibly blatant and stupid misrepresentation of the scientific method. Your distaste for science is ironically humorous as you spout your crap using technology that wouldn't work if there were as many problems with science as you seem to think there is.
No.

Your irritated with viable comparisons that I make between scientific theories and religion. I criticized but didn't misrepresent anything. I believe you have a moot point because you don't focus on disproving me at all. What you and some others do best is stand your ground.

This crap really grinds my gears.

The only thing that is clear when I'm speaking to science oriented people like yourself is that you need somebody else to define something for you. Exactly the same way how christians need the holy bible for definity. You aren't using what you know but instead what your told by someone who is more educated in a specific area of science than you are. Any person with science oriented beliefs or evolutionist for that matter is a fucking tool if they think whatever they were taught from a school grade science textbook isn't flawed. Misnomers DO exist within science. It doesn't get anymore basic than that. Lol the theory of evolution can kiss my ass.

You tell them dude! Stupid book reading morons. I bet they take everything they read as the truth. You don't do that though, you personally test everything before you believe it. Your awesome dude! You know what's been bothering me though? Ionizing radiation. I would test it but you wouldn't believe my results until you did it yourself. So I think you should shove some uranium right up that brown eye. I mean, obviously the texts are flawed. You really should find out for yourself. Oh and have you ever seen anyone die from drinking too much bleach? I bet that's complete crap too. Let me know how your results turn out.

I can't believe your trying to argue that you follow sound scientific principle while simultaneously discrediting any evidence backed findings. It's absolutely amazing. Your either the best troll ever or the most retarded person I've ever seen that's still able to use the internet.

Last scientific thing that was challenged? Gee. How about http://blog-o-scope.com/2011/02/study-500-scientists-findings-dispute.html
^^ That's 500 scientists disputing a claim. Or you could just quit being so damn lazy and google scientific dispute.

Or you could just pick any study ever done in quantum physical mechanics. Those get disputed and reformed sometimes twice in the same day.

P.S. I swung by your journal on your profile and would like to add that I could add pages to this with the ammunition your providing there.

Now, how about we give this thread back to the guy that started it and quit high jacking and butt fucking his thread.

That was some great use of hyperbole there but I'm not a troll. You nor no other person on this forum has the ability to project a false image of me so stop acting as if you have me figured out. The theory of evolution is not definitive to me, but I do see value in it for being the procedure for creationism. I'm a theist and I've maintained a neutral position so far. I don't ever put religion before science or say why its better. I guess you don't like what you read when I compare the two or point out the cons of science. Thats still no reason for you to be butt-hurt.

You did atleast throw some info my way. I was asking for it more out of frustation but what you presented me with did give me some clarification. When comparing science oriented beliefs along with the adherence to holy scriptures, it is clear to see that they both rely on the same thing. Faith.

Wow, come on everybody, let people have there own opinion. Debate don't fight. To the OP, check out the book ONE by Richard Bachman, this book kinda states this, that we are all just one, an infinite amount of desicions create a universe. Really quite mind bending. Good Luck.

Thank you, I'll have a read of that book.

I never read the replies earlier, but now that I did, It's made me think again... about AI... we will go beyond singularity, quantum, god particles, etc and if we don't kill ourselves off as humans via those means or nuclear weapons, wars, religion, comets, pollution, global warming, something bigger than the galaxies colliding... etc we might discover that we as humans, even everything in reality is made from a technology we will someday not clone/copy but physically make... To think, that this has already happened must mean we as humans are only a AI itself... teaching, learning, programming... So difficult for me to express everything really without sounding so plain... There is so many logical theories I have in my mind trying to blend into one that I just can't make sence of it all and wish someone has/is thinking/writing about the same things without any crazy twists... a discussion forum would be great, but I don't know what to search for to find exactly what I want.

Maybe someone else can put forward a theory.

There's just so much to include. Frequencies, physical matter, AI, earlier species, consciousness, afterlife, aliens, big science experiment... etc
Nothing may be true or realistically have any chance of being the real answers to life as we know it... as we have so much to discover, its just I have not heard/read much about anything in this direction of things like I have with religion and it would be nice to expand my knowledge and know more about all this and make sense, a little more anyways....

...I've often wondered about the internet as being the nervous system of AI. We're that coagulated mass that it maintains.

On a purely fun, high, hypothetical note that is.

So I was/am pretty cut, chilling back on the sofa spaced out after work... I somehow get thinking (lol stay with me here) that 'possibly' we humans are just a thought of a 'computer' like intelligent conciousness that is learning, expanding, teaching itself, as if anything is possible, any path, any design. So for example, people say the singularity or whatever is going to happen with humans/computers and that a computer might have a human consciousness with a unlimited memory capacity/speed/information some day soon. What if it's already happened. I think 'possibly' that big bang was the birth of this AI computers consciousness and we are just some kind of material/physical projected 'imaginary' thought. I don't think anyone will understand it but I felt like writing :leaf: so maybe someone might understand, and continue this thread :-P

Skroatz!
There are debates going on about this very subject. Maybe you will find them interesting.

ARGUMENT FROM FAITH EQUIVALENCY
(1) You have faith that the sun will rise tomorrow, don't you?
(2) See! Atheists have faith too!
(3) Therefore, belief in science is just another faith.
(4) Just like I have faith in God and Jesus.
(5) Therefore, God exists.

ARGUMENT FROM QUOTE MINING
(1) Here is an irrelevant quote by Carl Sagan that proves that science is wrong.
(2) [Atheist: Uhhh, that quote is a bit out of context. Actually, if you read the whole page from which the quote is taken, you'll see that—]
(3) Since science is wrong, creationism is true.
(4) Therefore, God exists.

ARGUMENT FROM UNTIDY THEORY OF EVOLUTION
(1) In attempting to unravel such a simple, straightforward matter as the evolution of life over the course of the last 2.7+ billion years, scientists have encountered certain difficulties and differences of opinion.
(2) Therefore the Theory of Evolution is a house of cards and creationism is self-evident.
(3) Therefore, God exists.

ARGUMENT FROM CREATION, a.k.a. ARGUMENT FROM PERSONAL INCREDULITY (I)
(1) If evolution is false, then creationism is true, and therefore God exists.
(2) Evolution can't be true, since I lack the mental capacity to understand it; moreover, to accept its truth would cause me to be uncomfortable.
(3) Therefore, God exists.

Old and boring tricks

What defines God to you Heisenberg?

I don't really have a personal definition of God. I find the universe awe inspiring and I see science as the best tool to explore that awe, but I do not connect that to God in any way. I do not see god as a higher sense of myself or anything like that. I am truly godless. I do not believe we have any higher purpose. We are born to reproduce and the rest is incidental. That isn't to say I do not find value in community and family ties. I admire the human experience in many ways. There is much to be said about the incidental aspects of life, but none of it equates to an inherit higher purpose. I think realizing this affords us the luxury of deciding our own purpose. Just because the universe did not assign us a destiny does not mean you can't have one. There are many things wrong with this world and making a difference to affect change is all we need to experience something greater than our individual selves.
