Sun drying to continue THC production?

I think the easiest way to resolve this is, would you even notice 3 days worth of growth?

Idk for sure but it seems like three days wouldn’t be enough time to make the bud noticeably stronger at any stage. Like if you chop at 56 days or 60 days there’s not gonna be much difference.
I totally agree with that, after a period of 2-3 days when enough water vacates the plant to begin withering the cell walls, the metabolic process caused from the plant’s senescence will fade.

Okay mr google botanist who dries cannabis in the sun. Your right.
but I’ll continue my fowl practice of complete dark and 60F65Rh for my drying environment.

and to be clear. YOU said to just cut and put in the sun with no water or rh.
your arrival claims environmental assistance by providing water in cups or misting the veggies.

also Humans hair, nail, and skin cells continue growing after death. Your little google search proves that veggies have the same effect. It’s not the same as “on the vine”. But your right. They grow under the right conditions they can grow a lil longer. UNDER THE RIGHT CONDITIONS.
Back on topic.

How about drying cannabis in the sun? That’s your claim. Quit steering this in a direction to make you feel less dumb.

Did this forum actually become this ignorant and pathetic over the last two years?? Did you even read my original post? I never advocated nor defended drying in the sun, but its been done for centuries in many nations, maybe not the best practice but obviously not that destructive or no one would’ve gotten high from cartel weed in the 80s and 90s…the BEST way to dry is sublimation/freeze dry, just shake the water crystals away, but most of us including me do the dark/perfect tem/perfect rh environment methodology then cure in jars. And yes, I have harvested so much outdoor that I left about a QP hanging outside in hot november weather until it was dry and sheiveled, looked like shit, but still smoked great when compared to the rest of the plant that was processed normally. And as for taking shots at me for googling the exact info relating to this, take a biology class, as you said plenty of cells keep growing once the plant is cut and hung…no water, so the transferration stops but the trichome cells live on….which means for the time they live (2-3 days at least regardless of environment) they would function exactly the same as if they were still attached to a live plant growing IN THE SUN. So, the sun/light is the absolute best thing for your trichs and THC production but the instant you cut them it is going to ruin that THC and destroy your plant in 2-3 days?? OK, that makes a LOT of sense LOL but whatever

I guess I expected more critical thinking from experienced growers in a forum where I’d received it before, didnt realize it had gone so far downhill but thanks to everyone for contributing.

And as for “google scientist”, I work in pharmaceutical testing with an MS in BioChem, another MS in Microbiology, and a BS and certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, and I’ve been growing weed clandestinely and legally for 35 years…..what could I possibly understand about science, plants or weed LOL?

Freeze drying kills terpenes it is definitely not the best way to dry. I’d like to see your perfect drying room. You show me yours ill show you mine. You don’t even realize how damaging oxidation and sun work to evaporate terps and thc lmao.

ed rosenthal even disagrees.

and yeah, i do understand how UV-b and oxidation work, thanks, but to say 2-3 days of sun will destroy your product after its been in the sun for 10-12 weeks and the internal cells of the buds haven’t changed or altered their function is ludicrous, if anything while enough moisture is in the interstitial/intracellular spaces to support cell-wall rigidity the buds keep functioning just like they were still on the whole plant…after 2-3 days the lack of water and ion transfer causes the cells to die, and at that point the product would start degrading. Apples, tomatoes, bananas, etc dont die when separated from their plant, neither do roses until the water runs out….they continue to age similarly to being on their plant.

Side by side in lab testing shows they destroy terpenes. This is from real world testing not a shill from a cryo curing company. I've had marked diffences on the terpenes. One dried in a traditional room where everything is controlled and one using harvest rights cryo curing machine. Same clones same plant all from the same part of the plant. On the traditional dry the terpenes were 5.8% and the cryo cure were 2% that's a huge reduction. This was performed multiple times and the results were the same. Granted the bud size didn't change in the cryo cure but no biggie. Overall look was the same too in color thc% was within a decent 2% +/- between the too but the terpenes are effectively destroyed.

Since we’re online. I’m a professional football player. And I just got back from the iss yesterday. Next week I’ll be time traveling.

and the week after. Colonization mars.
I got degrees in space
I just love ppl like this oh I have this degree and list a shkt ton of science degrees and yet he's on here asking shit one should have already done research on in a lab setting given his clandestine weed growing background. I'm sure he was part of the lsd trails back in the say. If I'm remembering correctly they were all master degrees damn near a doctorate lol. Mine are merely a bachelor and simply minored in horticultural. But given his lab and everything it makes my big building look like ass I bet lmao.

I’ve hung plants outside in the sun for a week and it seemed to be more potent than the same plant grown in my growroom….why?..I wish some cannabis production company would try more experiments like this, because in many other countries they do sun dry exclusively and the weed is awful looking but of incredible potency.
...
i never said it was better nor that I would do it, merely asked the question if anyone else had ever tried it….
Do a real study and publish the results in a paper. If you have three advanced science degrees that should be no problem. Don't need to wait for some 'cannabis production company' to do the study for you. But it sounds like you are full of bullshit and changing your story.
