Little trick for you: Do not open the collection container while dry ice is still inside. This leads to large amounts of condensation inside the container and also in your extracts. All the icing and condensing you see on the outside, would now be happening inside. Place the container in a warm bath until no audible CO2 releases when the relief valve is pulled. There should also not be any ice, or areas of condensation on the outside of your container.
I typically vacuum the oil before I ever open the collection container. Just use a standard Type H quick disconnect male nipple and whatever adapter you need for your vacuum pump hose.
Do this and you can very easily get wax, crumble, shatter, etc. This is assuming the plant material is fairly dry as well.
If you make a very firm oil, and wish for it to be thinner, go purchase pure d-limonene from a health food store and combine a small amount. There are several low-viscosity terpenes that naturally exist in your plant of choice, which will dissolve and thin out your extracts healthily. I won't mention the company that does this already, but it is commonplace to use terpenes as thinning agents.
If you have a stainless pressure vessel you can extract and combine these terpenes yourself from acidic fruit bodies, etc. It would be even easier to mix a proportion of oranges, lemons, or whatever to your base plant material and wind up with a thinned out pre-dissolved oil.
Do not extract fruits, or wet material in the SCUBA tank please. I was just running off on a tangent.
