high i have looked all over for the answer to this questions with no success so can anyone shine a light on cloning,

i am cloning in canna cocco with great results but what i need to no is how long into flowering can i still take clones, i know the further into flower the more stressed the plant will be, i am week 3 into flower small buds are forming have found that one plant is growing bigger and fatter than the others so would like to preserve this for the further grows,

should i just have a go and hope for the best, not to do it at all cause of the tress, your advise and thoughts would be muchly apresiated.

if you need any other ingfo then let usno peace................

I don't know about the stress on the plants during flowering; I've never cloned a plant yet (but will be very shortly) but if it's an exceptional plant I would do everything possible to keep those genetics.

Go for it, the stress caused to your current flowering plant will be minimal if you are taking just 1 or 2 clones.

The clones may be a bit stunted.

i have taken clones from my first grow ever and they took just fine just took a little bit longer to root it was kinda of funny looking to have a little bud on top and it literllay desapears as the cutting takes to rooting so but make sure you take the cutting not to long into the flowering process

Mr floaty...it works better the earlier in flowering you can do it, just like homegrown says!

Just this week I am seeing confirmation of my 1-week-into-flowering clones' success - it works 1 week in, so maybe the probability of success gets lower further into flowering, but it can be done.

I took clones a few weeks in from my 2 plants, then flowered the plants, and it turns out I had 1 male and 1 female plant. So I took a couple more clones from the female so I would have a bigger 2nd generation of sisters, 4, instead of the original 2 clones. Looks like these clones are taking as they are just getting over the drooping stage and are starting to perk up...a small tug on the stalk and the clones' roots become apparent with the little circle of soil that moves with the plant.

Good luck!

You can clone anytime you want during flower, just remember the plant is going to grow wierd for awhile till it's gets readjusted to veg.

yup, go for it. but you're very close to the cut-off point i use. i never go beyond day 21 or so of flower to take cuts. after that it takes forever for them to revert back to veg. don't even worry about stress. as long as you don't do too much trimming at any one time, it'll be fine.

a foliar spraying of some seaweed extracts or similar product really helps with stress and also gives the clone a weak feeding until the roots take. i like rhizotonic....

I've taken clones up to 3 weeks into flowering with no ill effects. It seems the longer you let it flower before you take clones, the bushier they grow. Just give them a spray of some seaweed like felix said.

my plant got crushed yesterday and lost a cola which is like taking an extreme clone, and my plant bounced right back with even more bud growth.

i cloned 3 weeks into floweirng and i got 22 of the 25 clones i cliped surivied. they actually seem to grow faster than clones i cut form my vegging plants

Kind of late reply, but I just put 26 fresh rooted clones into my system that we're taken from their mothers about the 4th week of flowering. They rooted in collars/spray box in about 10 days with the lights set at 18/6. Then directly back into the 12/12 as soon as they had roots an inch long.
They took about a week to get over the move and then just exploded with growth. Several of my dream cookies hybrids are almost a foot tall with 5-6 internodes. The OG Cheese's appear a bit stunted, but they'll grow out of it I hope. Doing aSOG type grow, so I want them short.
About a third are developing colas already, tho small, but they had little baby buds when I cut them, it's like they never reverted to veg. I think luck has been in my favor.
Patience is the key here
