I just came here to find out if these china specials really work, I only need an oz a month and my trusty $100 hps 600w has provided but Ive had many problems over summer due to heat, so thats my only interest in LED and based on this thread I ordered 2 lights both 480W one for a backup.
So thanks to all posters for the good info.
Rock on.
How much with shipping did that end up costing, did you order the driver from there or from nearer him, hope it's going good now.

Do you need to dim the driver? What kind of board are you running with it?

You have a “A” series driver so there are two screws on it under the little rubber plugs, one that says “IO” which adjusts the current and one that says “VO” which adjusts voltage.
Thanks.

Any of y'all ever get offered a free sample on alibaba? A rep from a relatively new company called "indexgrow" messaged me offering me a free sample, and I'm tempted, but wanted to make sure it wasn't a scam first.
Never, and I've ordered and talked to more than a few lighting companies. Too bad, I'd definitely side by side a geeklight or equivalent against one of my Meijiu fixtures.

What equivalent, I'm just looking into these for the future and I'm very interested, is kingsbrite okay or is geekligh better?

sorry for interfering with your conversation)
If you looking for quantum boards, kingbrite is ok...but maybe Meijiu better with their fatter heatsinks, dont know about geeklight.Just look at quanity of diods, fattnes of heatsink, price and what red-uv-ir-diodes they put(cree, osram,lg or else) and choose best for you.

Have you guys seen the new waterproof boards on red alu-heatsink?

These guys:

Yea it's funny you mention that. I recently put in a order with kingbrite and asked if I can get their strips water proof. I wanted them water proof so I can use them for supplemental lighting in my greenhouse during fall/winter/spring. They said no :/
Got me thinking on how I can go about it. Any suggestion anyone?
Might start a new threat on water proofing.

I have a 240w waterproof from indexgrow, looks very nice, also it is a final light, i can use plug and play. the board is much bigger than the other suppliers, light spread is better, but the problem is shipping cost is expensive, maybe because the volume bigger.

$525AUD a piece, drivers, tax and shipping included.
Each light has 2 drivers and as im only using 1 light i have the others for spares.
I figured if I need new drivers in the future I may buy locally depending on the runaround.

Indexgrow just hit me up as well offering a test light however they didn't mention if it was free or not. I've had a few companies try this but they expected me to pay full price and shipping to "test" their product. We will see what their response is.

Just an update on my issues with Meijiu... Looks as though they are finally going to step up to the plate and send me x2 end bars to replace the damaged ones. I'm not about knocking a company so just to set the record straight allot of the issues did come from dealing with UPS. Trying to file a claim was a nightmare and every time I talked to someone I got a different story or was transferred to another agent that couldn't help. I've only ever dealt with North American suppliers so I'm used to having a company do the legwork to make things right if shit goes south with an order. Unfortunately this wasn't the case with Meijiu.

Given our correspondence they seem to have an attitude as though their profit margins are minimal and that they would be taking too much of a financial hit to make things right. I still dont believe that UPS did the damage as the proof is in the shipping boxes. There is no way that those bars were crushed in shipping. I honestly think they tried to slip one past me in hopes that I wouldn't put up the fight I did. Anywho, I have been reminded several times now that they are incurring a huge cost to send me replacement bars and they would rather give me a discount on my next order. Thats BS as once I receive the replacement bars I'll be shipping to damaged ones to UPS's damage assessment office in Edmonton. They will recoup their costs and then some as I'm sure they will claim the replacement cost of those bars far more than they are worth.

Aside from that the lights work awesome. One of the dimmers doesn't work worth a shit now either, and is at full power @ 50%. Doesn't matter as I'm running em at full tilt now anyways, but still. Lotsa guys with great experiences with them, just not me.

Thanks for the update. Hopefully a Meijiu rep see’s this and fixes it now and in the future. Pretty shitty imho.

Where do they think their big sales come from some times?

This thread is hot and has been read by far more people than have responded.

China censures its internet, i dont think Meijiu can see this site at all. Ive tried sending them links and this is what i was told.
