The fishing thread ( not about fish fertilizer)

What’s the most ridiculous way you’ve broken a rod tip?

For me it was a Ceiling Fan the night before a day trip for salmon.
A few yrs ago one of my buddies from the bay area came up to visit. He’s not much of a fisherman. We were fishing on the feather. Lent him one of my setups.
I seen him try to get out of a snag and he’s grabbing the rod in the middle and I tell him don’t grab the rod trying to get out of the snag!
Fucker acts mad because I told him how to do something, walks down the river a little, casts. Snag. Grab. Snap. :dunce:

Ok
As a guy who has dropped his phone thru the ice twice and once into a pond from my tree stand
I have some useful advice
Wrap a rubber band around your phone
It will not slip out of your pocket or slide off of any surface
I haven’t lost a phone in years this way :bigjoint:
Nice advice! Something about the Sherpa lined carhart pockets(which have zippers!) that hates iPhones. My iPhone before that slipped out the front pocket into a wastewater sump. One of the engineers returned it to me a few months later.

Remember the old Ugly Stick commercial where the guy holds up the rod by the tip? Had a friend buy an Ugly Stick and on his first day out fishing he was bragging about his awesome new rod. He immediately tried to hold up the rod like in the the commercial and it instantly snapped, it was hilarious.

3 rods at once. Closed the back of my jeep and forgot I stood the rods in the edge of it.

Trying to boat flip a 7lb largemouth. Rod broke but the hook didn't let go. Still got that one.

Setting a hook and taking a step back to realize I stepped on a Curado DC baitcaster and a zodais rod. 1 felt swoop $500 gone.

Sadly the phone was probably one of the less expensive incidents I have had fishing. Insurance is a lovely thing lol.

I should start an online tackle shop. I have so much old tackle from the 90's, Much of it never opened.
You’d be surprised what some hardcore guys pay for it
Gotta be straight here. I am interested in what you have. Being different on the water can be a huge difference in catching fish.

Many old style lures are not used anymore as newer ones have taken their place.

This has created a market for old lures because simply put the fish haven't seen them in a long time. They become easier to catch on these in highly pressured waters.

Avg bass memory when caught is 3 years. I fish the same places year after year.

So yea if your selling I might be buying. Lol

I inherited my grandpa’s 20yr unopened bargain bin supply. They all look so damn fishy. Frogs/mice, Rapala, cranks, and a spinner blade kit. Y’all still into telescopic rods?

Different offerings with proper presentation is a must.
