ok got it I have 2 10 gallon rubbermaids one will be filled with ph water the other with my nute solution and I will drop an airstone in each... finally a good use for all of this stuff from my dwc.....

edit...also when using r/o water the ppm count is at 0 while some tap waters are 400+ another reason for r/o..you want to give the plant what you want not whats in the public water...peace az

Well I went out todat and got like 10 gallons of distilled so the ppm should be zero

I am convinced this is the best thing for me by page 8... just need to know what nutrients to use.

I am using flora nova grow and bloom, you should get a liquid nute, and get either GH, Foxfarm or BC BOOST products

hydro nutes work the best..i recomend the gh 3 part...fox farm works well to...if using soil based nutes mix them the day befor an bubble em for better absorbtion by the roots....peace az

It could just be me being stupidly optomistic, but I think I'm starting to see alittle improvement. Hopefully this means they're responding to being flushed.

Yup, Esmerelda is definately on the track to recovery. She has a few branches standing up now. No change in Princess Consuela though. Just need more time with the good stuff I guess.

I have been lurking/reading this thread a couple days now and I really like what im seeing. This is my first grow and I would reallly like to go HEMPY if possible. I am currently 4 weeks into my bagseed grow using Scotts potting soil .07/.01/.03. in 4 inch pots. Started foxfarms nutes 1 and 1/2 weeks ago with 1/4 tsp per gallon. I think I Had a ph issue with my water (well water 7ph) so I ph'ed down my water to 6.5 and flushed.
Sooooo when I transplant I have read i should soak the rootball to remove some of the dirt and then put it in the perlite? Is the bog method only for transplants that are already in perlite? I intend to use 2 gal containers if thats not too big to transplant to now. Thanks in advance for any advice you may give.

nice to see your first post is in the hempy collective....I have not done a transplant from soil to hempy, but from what I knwo you simply want to carefully rinse as much of the dirt as you can from the root mass and then into the bucket... cirrus just did a transplant from soil a few days back he has some post in the collective check his grow and keep us posted

you can bog them with soil on top if you dont want to have to disturb the root cluster....if you do pull it out the pot just gently shake an pat away as much dirt as you can...then rebury in the HB...no 2 gal aint to big...peace az

when i did my hempy conversion (oh yeah ive done it now btw!) i just took the plants out of the pots, gave them a bit of a gentle shake to loosen off the soil and stuck them in my buckets. I didnt activly try and remove any soil to be honest, just a little shake to loosen up the root ball, did i fuck up!!

Ive gone from little 2 litre pots to 20 litre pots filled with coco fibre, so i figured havin a little bit of soil in there wouldnt be too much an issue

Oh, for all you american growers 20 uk litres is just over 5 of your gallons!

The buckets i used were all part of my original hydro grow that went wrong, and they already had holes in the side about a centimetre from the bottom, so i just used the t-peices and pipe that was originaly used to pipe it all up to run 2 inches of pipe up the side of the bucket, ive just watered untill i see water coming up to the top of the pipe - you reckon that will suffice?


Just as a side note, one of the plants i transplanted was a cutting taken from an older plant, rooted in a 1 litre hempy bucket made from a litre bottle. i used 3 parts perlite to 1 part vermiculite. When i took it out of the hempy "bottle" to transplant, i was AMAZED at the root ball. it stunned me to silence it was so good. the plant was 2 weeks old from the date of cutting to the date of transplanting, and had grown in inch in the previous 2 days before trnasplanting (thats what prompted me to transplant as their must have been roots for that to happen) what i didnt expect though is that there was so much clean white healthy root matter that it completely held the litre of perlite/vermiculite in the shape of the bottle.

if there is one thing ive learnt from the hempy buckets so far, its that roots FUCKIN LOVE IT!

Hey guys, just noticed some brown tips on one of my plants today. Wondering if you guys could help me out. It's in a 44 oz. Hempy cup, I use GH nutes, and I've been feeding them the Veg. Grow stage mix (3 tbsp Grow, 2 tbsp Micro, and 1 tbsp Flower). Havn't noticed the problem till today, and the other plant I'm growing doesn't show signs of it (the first two pictures). Research tells me it's a Nitrogen deficiency, but is that possible with the amount of Grow nutes I'm giving?

The last four ones are the plant I'm having problems with.

Whoa, you mean teaspoons per gallon, right? I certainly hope so! You'll find with hempy, that you can go a little lite on the nutrients.

How old are your babies there? With a nitrogen def. the bigger leaves turn yellow and that doesn't seem to be your issue. They look to be browning at the tips, but it could just be how the pictures came out. How close are they to the lights?

Understandable, they are two and a half weeks old. I've liked the growth with the hempy so far, seems good but the past few days they havn't grown much/if at all. I'm using several CFL's and I'm keeping them about 1-2" away from the bulbs. Last Friday I switched to 3 Led lights with two CFL's to help it out (I know the general concensus on LEDs, so spare me the bad mouth on them).

The bottom pair of leaves arn't turning yellow, aside from when the plant naturally sheds the lower first pairs. And yes, just the tips appear to be brown, not the whole leaf. Temps are kept around 80-83 F, and I make sure they arn't getting heat burned from the bulbs.

LOL, and yeah I meant teaspoons, sorry about that.

Yeah that's what I thought - you have nutrient burn!
- 2 weeks is too young for fertilizer
- flush with r/o water
- start nutrients back up in about a week and then just give 1/4 strength
- I use GH 3 part Flora Series also and the containers says on the back as recommended feeding for:

Cuttings and Seedlings (your plants are seedlings)
1/4 teaspoon of each part - FloraGrow/FloraMicro/FloraFlower

So start flushing, then just water every other day and after a week to a week and half, you can start feeding again - using the above amounts.

How old do they have to be for me to bump them up to the general grow phase, and then the vegitative growth phase of the GH nutes?

I hope u seriously mean teaspoons not tablespoons.. If you are doing tablespoons you need to stop A.S.A.P
