Widow what is silica blast and Hygrozyme ??

Hey 5050 -
Silica Blast is put out by Botanicare and it strengthens the plants tissue helping it the to flourish in adverse conditions like heat, cold, drought and frost. Huh yeah, that was from the container - it makes the stems stronger... lol And Hygrozyme is an enzyme, so it's suppose to turn dead/dying roots in to useable energy for your plants.

Both great products! I picked them up when I transplanted from my DWC - I had to separate my roots and wanted to make sure my plants didn't die. And well it worked, plants didn't die... lol

I know you guys would disaprove of my cfls and Leds. But for the record I already have a HPS, and I will flower with it. I just use the leds and cfls for veging and for stealth reasons.

ya it happens sometimes in the early sages when watering everyday to keep the perlite moist...you can make a cover or simply brush it off an add new perlite to the top...peace az

What is it? Alge? What about just mixing some H202 into the water?

Thanks for the advice on my transplant. I didn't mess with the roots at all just removed old pot and planted in the HB.

I hear folks talk about canopy temperature is this the temp at the top of the plant, and what should it be? I am using a 400w MH conversion bulb and have been keeping it about 2 ft from tops of plants at about 78 degrees. I'm thinking I could go closer and hotter?

Also since my well water is high ph can I use rain water? Tested some yesterday and ph was about 6.0 .

Before and after transplant pix's.

Hey AZ how wet do you have to keep the perlite when transplanting.. I trans over to mini HB party cups from the rockwool cube, well I left the plant in the cube and just put it in the cup, but one of the plants complete slumped over like it had been shot..

It started turning upwards, Should I just like spray them with a mister or should I use a certain amount of water?? Also I have one plant that looks like 2 of it's leafs are stretching for the heavens, but it's only about 2 inches from the cfl..

Since there are 62 pages in this thread this question may have already been asked.

Would adding an air stone to the bottom of the pot help anything?

It would seem with 1 hole in the pot the roots wouldn't be getting all that much oxygen. Then again I'm not sure how much they really need.......

yes that question has been asked an my awnser will remain sturd-fast ...if you want to put an airstone into a bucket/tub dwc/swc is what you want...this is a proven system an does not need an airstone...as perlite vermaculite cococoir etc etc are all great at keeping o2 at root level...peace az

As you guys know, I've been having some problems with my plants. The only thing I've done that made her appear to recover was when I transplanted her from Soil into a Hempy Bucket. So, in an act of desperation, I reenacted the transplant. I dug her up, washed her roots off in water, then H2O2, then water and put her back in the perlite.

When I was doing this though I noticed something really odd...Mixed throughout the perlite I kept finding these small bits of what I can only describe as clear gelatin. I've never seen it before, could this be what's making her sick? Anyone know what it is?
