Why the two bulbs and not just a single 1k?Ya i think i took the pics in like the 5th or 6th week of flowering. but I had so much light on the litte buggers

3 400 watters will give twice the parr watts than one 1000 watter, with only 200 more watts. Due to heat and distance factors. Factor in air cooled 1000 watt and you loose 10 percent of light through the glass and have half the light spread. a light mover and you now have 1200 watts. With more light sources lower buds have 2 to 3 light sources now, and less leaf shading. I have gone from 1000 down to 3 400's (currently 2 in use) and couldnt be happier. Thanks Jorge C.
You are undoubtedly right about that. The 600 watts are the most efficient. lumens per watt ratio. As far as lumens at distance squared, i can get 400 watts upto 6 inches closer. I have just seen temps at 6 to 10 degrees higher as well. I also use Chrome dome light bulb, reflector built in. Less traped heat and the the most efficent light spread. As far as distance traveled from bulb to reflector and back to plants....sounds logical nice work
i heard some things about a 600 watter being the most efficient too but cant remeber exactly

I use Hi-Lux bulbs and the lumen per watt for a 600w HPS 150 lumens/watt
the 1000w HPS is 146 lumens/watt.
The "more efficient" argument is Jorge Cervantes BS IMO.
A 1000w bulb also penetrates the canopy much further than a 600w and with cool tubes get it just as close . . .
Not an argument, a discussion.
And how is it bullshit when you have clearly stated the facts?? 1000 watter are more intense per candle foot, but you cant get one nearly as close. Light intensity diminishes by half every foot. And if your talking about growing crops with cool tubes, ged da fug outa here.... read up
No prob. +repThank you kind sir.
4 lumens per watt extra is pretty minor and you have to take into account the fact that, the ballasts also draw some power. When I was planning my most recent space for example I was debating two 600w vs two 1000w. My 1000w lamp is rated at 146,000 lumens a 600w 90,000 lumens. So 2x 146,000 = 292,000 vs 2x90,000= 180,000.Not an argument, a discussion.

True but a 1000w lamp is almost TWICE as intense as a 600w lamp. That is a big difference.1000 watter are more intense per candle foot, but you cant get one nearly as close. Light intensity diminishes by half every foot. And if your talking about growing crops with cool tubes, ged da fug outa here.... read up

How did the Green Dragon work out? My buddy made some a while ago - it tasted terrible and did nothing.I have just recently familiarized my self with the fact that the sunmaster and horilux brand bulbs are some of the best around and worth the extra money
i just finished using a brand new one and I got my best yeild ever exactly 600 grams using a 600 Watter 1 gram per watt and took the rest of the sniggletts (shitty popcorn buds) and made green dragon with them
so anyway im real happy with the sunmaster and vowed to buy one every 2 - 4 grows and keep the engine of my op burning bright
but tell me more about the reflected bulbs
do they come from horilux or sunmaster or is it another manufacturer?
Nice looking one there. My seedling, only a day or two behind yours, is looking almost identical, just half a leaf shorter. Might try the foil as it seems to have worked nicely for yours. doesn't it create heat spots though? And doesn't it block ventilation to the soil?No prob. +rep
I cannot believe the inter-nodal growth that has shot out in the last day since I put the foil over the soil... CRAZY!
