Well its officially summer 21st of June has passed being the longest day of the year and I have yet to feed them since I put them out in early may The weather has been good I have not needed to water at all which is awesome but I also have not fed them either. There hasn't been much of a need to but some of the lower leaves are yellowing and the new growth is not quite as dark green as it has been. So I am brewing an AACT or an Actively Aerated Compost Tea Its been bubbling for the past 36hrs and contains 3tsp Espoma Plant-tone dry powder 5-3-3, 3tsp of EJ Bloom 0-3-1, and 3tsp Of grandmas unsulphered molasses in 4 gallons of water final npk ratio of about 5-6-7
basically with the products I use plant tone, and bio tone. They contain microbes, beneficial bacteria and myocorhizial fungi which live in within the soil breaking down nutrients to make them available to the plant. Well when you add these to a aerated aquatic environment with a food source, the other things contained in the nutrient package manures crab meal cottonseed meal kelp molasses geensand ect. The microbes begin to multiply the aeration allows a higher quantity of life to sustained within the water because co2 produced from the consumptions and breeding is able to be released from the water. Where without aeration the co2 level within the water would rise and dissolved oxygen would drop causing it to become anaerobic and the life cycle would end with a horrid smell and a toxic useless waste. Overall creating an AACT allows for more available nutrient to be delivered as the tea is applied and increases the quantity of life in your soil.
