Top 5 Breeders & strain

What’s wrong with autos? I think they get a bad rap. Here are some purple punch autos from Barney’s farm that i grew in the sun

Lol I can’t argue with you on that. What’s some improvement tips. My second harvest, used living soil

Ive grown a good number of autos. Only one of them had what i would consider nice dense structure. I grew 3 of them out of the 5 pack and 2 were fluffy. Stick to photos.

Listen to the guy above me. I ran Autos once and I never looked back cause the density just isn’t there yet. The smoke is just fine, don’t get me wrong, but I like my dense, super frosty rock hard nugs from photos

Yep. Ive looked at so many pictures of auto grows and people's personal experience with density and I always come back to the same conclusion- all fluff. I had a few major issues with my first photo grow because of the bad habbits growing autos taught me and even though a lot went wrong, ive still got buds that have that "break the teeth off your grinder" density ive been looking for since i was a little girl. When an ounce is filling up a half gallon mason jar, something isnt right.

I definitely appreciate that from both of you guys. I’m just trying to learn everything that will optimize my grows while improving my skills. Part of the reason I’m on this thread to learn about the best genetics/breeders.

Let me put this out there...if selecting a reputable strain from a well-known breeder (i.e; symbiotic genetics, In House genetics) would you guys agree that your light is the next most important factor in improving bud density, and quality overall? And if so, what are some light companies/models that consistently give excellent results??

(Don’t really care about cost, I just want the best results I can get for indoor 4x4)

Yes lights are a defining factor. One or two 600 watt Air cooled hood and the new versatile Digital electronic dimmable HID ballasts

What’s your take on LED? And which one If you had to pick
That is rabbit hole. I say supplemental lighting is not an option with LEDs. Spectrum and penetration of flux throughout the canopy is key. LED lottery is mostly about the wattage driving the individual LEDs over sustained periods of heat, extreme heat. You will spend a couple thousand lighting and ventilating with LEDs vs same result with HID will cost 1000$. Then you nhave to look at operating and bulbs, LEDs burn fast too and new HID ballasts are extremely efficient and smart. If researching for a patient also consider is the person paying for electricity at their grow?

I think they still arent worth it. You can pick up used 1000w HPS seups for pennies on the dollar. If i had to pick i would get the $1300 Gavita LED. Maybe in another 5-10 years it will make sense to switch to LED but not right now. I only grow in winter so the heat that comes off HPS just helps heat the house. Keeps my temps right where i like them.

10 years? Dude, 5 at max. Diy led is very affordable nowadays and results obviously surpass HID lighting. HID will be moribund in 5 years. The tech has almost crested. Whereas LED is improving literally on a monthly basis.

You can build a far better light than that gavita led fixture, for a lot less money.

This crystal meth from fastbuds had a pretty ok density, but the plant was not a big yielder. That nug was 0.9 grams

Also you might notice something funny in the middle piece..

Thats quality right there.

Yep, but it goes to show that its not that airy buds are something one can not escape with autos, its just that most autos are bred like shit. Often when you got one good thing, you got another very bad..

But a good breeder could make an auto that is potent, dense, relatively large and not hermie.
