I never stated that better pheno's do not exist, simply stating that I believe for the majority of growers, they turn it into something its not. I have pheno hunted the same strain, and found what I have liked before but at the same time, it was more preference than finished product quality. I have never encountered a pheno personally that was so horrific that it was just trash like so many people seem to claim.
I completely understand there are different phenotypes. What I do not believe is the amount of people who have wacked out phenos in every breeder pack (unless you are going with a garbage breeder). So many times you see people posting about how they have 3-4 phenos in a 10 pack of seeds. Im sorry, but I dont believe this to be the "norm". I understand fully that with crossbred plants, there is always the chance to get different characteristics but the way people on forums make it out to be is just ridiculous.
I also believe that just because you do not have the "preferred" pheno of a certain strain does not mean it cannot produce high quality green. Maybe it grows too tall, or too bushy for your liking but it does not make it a "bad" pheno. That is all I am saying. I have encountered different phenos of the same strain, but never in the same "pack" that I have ordered. But I also do not purchase the cheapest seeds available from random breeders.
Also, I have seen small differences in plants (size) within the same packs. Different phenos? Whatever you want to call it. Some plants responded better to transplanting than others. Is that a different phenotype in your eyes? In the end, while they may not have all been exactly the same height, they all produced the same quality.
