UAE is Parinoid about Arab Spring : Hires Blackwater to provide Non-Muslem Killers

The UAE is flexing it's might and has hired BlackWater to provide an 800 man Mercenary force.
Blackwater is reported as saying they will not have any Muslims on the team because they want to be sure each man will be willing to kill Muslims.

he United Arab Emirates (UAE) has hired the founder of the controversial US security company Blackwater, to set up a paramilitary force made up of foreign mercenaries in Abu Dhabi. Blackwater founder Erik Prince is to set up an 800-member battalion of foreign troops.
Documents obtained by The New York Times (NYT) on Sunday showed the crown prince of Abu Dhabi being behind the $529m deal.
It is a contentious move, which raises questions about loyalty, the role of citizens and the potential instability brought on by the popular uprisings in the Arab world.
The NYT said the covert unit will be used to put down internal revolts, defend oil pipelines and skyscrapers from any possible terrorist attack.
It also claimed that fighters from Colombia and South Africa have already been flown into the Emirate, where its rulers are reportedly deeply concerned about the popular unrest in the "Arab world as well as the perceived threat from Iran".
Is the UAE being paranoid or just protecting its citizens? What possible security risks could have motivated a small country like the UAE to hire outside help? How does the knowledge that the UAE is arming up with mercenaries sit in general?
Inside Story, with presenter Jane Dutton, discusses with Abdulhadi Alajmi, the board secretary of the Kuwait Historical Society; James Worrall, a fellow at the School of Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds; and Phyllis Bennis, a fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies.
This episode of Inside Story aired from Monday, May 16, 2011.

I don't know if the USA has signed off on this yet but this is a force that will be willing to fire on protesting citizens on the UAE.
I take it the rulers need forces they can count on and their people might turn on them so they are importing people from South America I understand.

This is an $529 million dollar deal for the owner of BlackWater which may have left the USA to avoid prosecution. I haven't followed that lately.

I tell you what, This is some messed up stuff. If the USA hired troops to put us down I think we would use our guns a lot.

We have already hired foreign troops to put us down, and most people will not resist so they may not even need to fire upon us, but we have contracted with the troops and have been training them.

Following the Bahrain crack down where protesters are or will face trial and harsh punishments for protesting the UAE seems to worry that they cannot handle their people who are mad as hell.

Looks like as the Arabs see what the world is like the Internet is being filtered too.

Some of these people are way braver than I. With the Palestinians willing to cross mine fields to protest the anniversary of the establishment of the Jewish State Israel and the crowds marching into a hail of bullets in Syria who among us Americans has this much courage to effect change?

Blackwater is no longer a company. I spent a few years as a contractor after retiring from the military.

I am strongly supportive of foreign governments paying for their own armies. I'm tired of financing the world's military operations.

What better way to train an 800 man security group than using former US military and paying them well for their service? We, the citizens of the USA, do not foot the bill.

Things like pipelines have to be defended as they are vital parts of economic infrastructure. Why would you assume that a death squad is being formed? If so, what could you do to prevent it and what right do you have to try?

It's a win-win.

You really need to go outside and gain some perspective. It's not overly advantageous to sit around and stare at a computer all the time. You can mentally lose grip on reality and get uberfocused on a bizarre, ineffective perspective.

Good luck!
