Maybe our country can subsidize more universities- and fewer prisons and fighter planes so everyone can make the investment in their education. They, their employers, the nation and the economy would benefit, making the practice a no brainer.Maybe with a second job and that extra 25 bucks a day this employee can get a education

Cause no other country has free education, free healthcare and a low prison population...........*.cough cough*..Australia and nearly every 1st world country..Maybe our country can subsidize more universities- and fewer prisons and fighter planes so everyone can make the investment in their education. They, their employers, the nation and the economy would benefit, making the practice a no brainer.
But because Bernie said it, it must be socialist. Can't have that!
Im not sure whom your addressing but yes to the first and some are happy doing unskilled jobs- good for them they need to get done.Nowhere have you addressed the choices people make.
Are you trying to tell me there are masses of driven individuals stuck in minimum wage positions?
You act like all hourly employees are minimum wage.
I stand by my statement that minimum wage is entry level. Highschool kids and fuck ups. Neither of which should get in the way of my dollar menu.
You watch too much Faux Spews and you obviously detest doing your homework, even when it's as simple as using Google. You've failed to account for most people working for minimum or even less. Even in your industry; 'wait staff'.Nowhere have you addressed the choices people make.

Raising the minimum wage will benefit millions of Americans not making the minimum nowNowhere have you addressed the choices people make.

I'm a cnc machinist.Nowhere have you addressed the choices people make.

No..people who dont want a livable hrly rate are pro welfare..cause people on the current rates have to be on it.But you are pro welfare. And it's just a small amount of the tax burden, and totally acceptable, according to you guys anyway.
You make nowhere near minimum wage.I'm a cnc machinist.
Wages Have stagnated for 10 years or are going down.
Want to call me a fuck up?
They'll PAY TAXES on those wages, so how is that a burden? But you are pro welfare. And it's just a small amount of the tax burden, and totally acceptable, according to you guys anyway.
How would you know? You make nowhere near minimum wage.
So it's OK for a multinational corporation to pay their employees essentially slave wages because I'm "pro-welfare" and "it's just a small amount of the tax burden" anyway..But you are pro welfare. And it's just a small amount of the tax burden, and totally acceptable, according to you guys anyway.
I looked at the whole picture. 2nd job empty. SS payouts are made so long as gross pay is below a certain level. May not be the case, but If you ever had to Hire someone ( a management position), you might look at this, as it was presented, to see life style, work habits, so on.Do you know what wages are as a share of total expenses for McDonalds? I bet they're a lot less than you think. Now go look at their profitability and then decide if it's okay for people who DON'T WORK AT ALL (because their money is doing the work instead) to make so much off the backs of those they're underpaying.
Then, go look at the tax burden of that employee pictured above vs the tax structure of those shareholders and you'll understand why our country is going so badly off the rails.
Look at the WHOLE picture, instead of griping about how everyone working a line job is lazy or replaceable.
...while doing all the work.So it's OK for a multinational corporation to pay their employees essentially slave wages because I'm "pro-welfare" and "it's just a small amount of the tax burden" anyway..
So you have an obvious double standard for who you consider to be "welfare queens". You're only against it when poor people get it, but when rich people get tax breaks or government handouts paid for by taxpayers, then that's OK..
This is why your side is losing this argument and the wages will rise whether you like it or not. People see right through the glaring hypocrisy in your position, they see the massive amounts of wealth and income inequality (not seen since the Great Depression), and they're tired of begging for scraps.
Do you?How would you know?
It's starting to get that way.You make nowhere near minimum wage.
Now you're just babbling nonsense.I looked at the whole picture. 2nd job empty. SS payouts are made so long as gross pay is below a certain level. May not be the case, but If you ever had to Hire someone ( a management position), you might look at this, as it was presented, to see life style, work habits, so on.
How long has he been there? The financials would make sense if he was there for less than 6 months (minimum amount of time before investing in training or consideration for promotions.)
I don't care who you vote for so long as you don't work for me. I don't care what Bernie says, I don't care what Hilary promises or blames, I don't care what Trump does because I will protect what I have. I will also make sure I take care of those around me.
Want to make the nation better? Get rid of McD's and don't treat it like a career. Its a layover job or a first job. A career in fast food, not the Owner of one or the manager, is a shit life. Plain and simple. Some people get stuck because they get comfortable. Others are just incompetent. Some don't care either way so long as they have TV, PS/XBOX, Porn, or beer. I like those things too but they are rewards for a hard days work.
How about an internship that leads to a company paying for education. I'm paying my own way right now because I didn't pay
enough attention in high school. I will have names for all the jobs I performed through our my CAREER and can tell an employer all about it. Or, now, I have the experience, education, and capability to open and run my own business.
Not trying to bash on the guy but his picture and financials warrant concern as he looks to be an adult and made the decision to associate his image with that information. Bad choice as the internet saves everything (assuming he is a real person not just a model)
Lets not invest in Shit enterprises and not blame ourselves. Service industry is just that, and industry to serve those with disposable income. Our service jobs are ones that the people marketed to are just unwilling or too lazy to perform themselves.
We are already suckling the teat because if I don't do it someone else will. Day laborers have their own union; nobody gets on the truck for less than $120 a day less take a beating by the others. They do this so they won't undercut each other to the point of working for $50 a day. So far a bunch of guys that don't speak English and probably not born in this country have been able to find jobs that pay more than McD's and will go farther in the next year because they have less than the guy pictured or what "grandma and grandpa".
If you can read this, thank a teacher.
If its in English, thank a soldier.
