I FINALLY got my weekend gardening done... got the rest of the chernobyls/timewrecks transplanted into 1.5 gallons, watered the cuttings and seedlings and added extra dirt to the top of the cups and also watered the big veg cuts (BB1/BB2/Romulan/Sparkle - aka, the girls of February 2013)

You think apollo smells good wait til you get some ace of spades in your life :) if i don't have a massive failure on my cuts there should be extra for you.

This may be the most resinous plant i've grown so far... it looks like sugar coating almost :)

Genius x Deep Chunk -- i never thought of it before, but have a feeling deep chunk has some deep purple in it :)

Awesome, is the strawberry smelling one?

Now if only I had more space to grow. Need the cash, and the space.

How much penetration do you think your leds get? And how high should it be above the canopy? I haven't had enough runs with mine to have an idea. Looking at designing a new cab so trying to figure out how tall to make the thing. Also debating on 2' x 4' or 4' x 4' floorspace.

The one I should have cuts for you is... it is only the 2nd most purple one though... i'll have cuts of the super purple strawberry one later they gotta veg out cuts just started growing. the pic above is not the strawberry one not sure which you meant :)

Looking back in retrospect 5-8" distance was what produced the biggest buds and most budsites during stretch. Only the plants in a good amount of super soil appeared to be able to take it without having deficiency issues (mg or ca). Supplementing and moving the lights up helps with this I still got pretty good yields off the plant that had the LED 1 - 1.5' above it most of the grow. That's what sucks... I actually got better yields off those plants in super soil under LEDs 1-2' above the canopy than i am on the current batch... shit even the crappiest plant that I had NONSTOP deficiency issues with last grow where the leaves were gone by the end similar to that one ace of spades this time put out more than the plants i've got going this round.... and that one was actually grown in a smaller container than these, although i did transplant it about 1/2 way through flower. it's really disappointing I expected better results if anything due to adding HPS. I didn't count on super soil making up such a big part and maybe even the LEDs.

I do at least have one NHK going this round that looks like it might be a solid producer - sucker gets noticably bigger every day the last several days! Unfortunately it's a small plant still so at best i might get an ounce and a half or 2. the grape apollo looks like it will definitely yield better than my tga apollos... bud structure looks to have some querkle influence for sure more similar to my querkle dom cheesequake buds than apollo 13.

Meanwhile, that cheesexcheese that is 4' tall is still airbuds and looks like it's gonna be a 120 day plant! I wrote off those adventure mix plants but they are looking nice and different phenos than most of what I've grown lately by bud type.

I don't care about color so much, but the smell you describe sounds wonderful. The only color I've had was supposedly a grand daddy purp and I didn't even see it except packed in the bowl in the dark. Was on 6th east of the interstate at some bar. Had to walk down to like congress with my vision mostly blacked out. One hit. Damn. Anyway.

I meant the only you said you'll have extra cuts of for me.

I'm lucky to get an ounce off of all my plants together in my little cab. That's why I'm looking to build a new one.

So how much penetration do you think the light gives through the canopy? I'm wanting to know the maximum height of a plant to grow before the bottom branches are just popcorn.

Cab height will be reservoir height, plus plant tub height, plus maximum height of plants that the light can penetrate, plus 1.5' for the led coverage, and possibly the height of the carbon filter depending on whether there is room beside the light for it or not.

I need to look up the specs on my 240w light. I want to buy a new one, in the new style. It is higher powered plus a bigger heat sink with no fans. In that case I can box it separately in the top to give it it's own cooling. Problem would be not able to move the plants closer to the light and can't move light closer to plants. But I could possibly run co2 that way.

The new blackstar chromes are more focused and require more height off the canopy than the older blackstars. I really don't know what the effective distance would be I just know it grew decent buds 18-20" away. Haven't grown with'em long enough to tell you how far the penetration is I try to get a pretty even canopy so that it doesn't matter, that's the best way to go with LEDs :) don't depend on them to penetrate.

The sparkle cut that Sensei has will purple..
He's got another pheno too, that I'm not sure of.. From seed. But the one from a cut was the one you had Voidling-and my only little clone(up there) is a stanky girl! I think she's gonna be a really good smoke!I'm gonna throw up some more pics in my thread in a few minutes..

Yeah I understand. But since I'm making a cab I can design to make best use of the lights ability. Maybe just scrog and then it doesn't matter. But that limits using multiple strains in a single run. I'll try checking with the manufacturer

Awesome. I would definitely need to scrog sparkle.Did y'all ever watch those ted talk vids I linked to? A thread came up last night about using human manure, made me dig the link out of this thread

Ahh, yes. You've sent me like three of his vids right? I simply cannot wait until I can get some property for building my home and gardens the way I want! It is just too sad/hard/disappointing to keep having to leave all these great yards and gardens for the next folks that may move in when ya move out.

Must take my hat off to ya Sensei!! Some phenomenal cake! The smells are so rich... And the flavor hits you hard... I love the BCS flavor it is so distinct.....I have only even came across this flavor once in some Jack Herer from a looong time ago.... Heaven brings back memories :D Hopefully you can do some wonders with the Durban.. I sure hope you get a killllllller phenotype.. There is some LEGIT cuts of durban going around Co so I know they might be able to produce some desirable cuts. I am thinking of just letting these go for like another week or two to really do myself some damage! So many sativas lately a indica is so blissful. Sure looking forward to chernobyl and timewreck, I have heard nothing but great news from those strains.

It is definitely the best tasting stuff I've ever grown and it's gonna have a place in my garden for a long time (at least as long as i'm able to keep cuts going -- still considering buying another pack or two to look for the ultimate pheno, but gonna wait til after the cuts all get flowered to decide. I dunno if you noticed (or maybe it's just me) but the ace/bcs are awesome to listen to music to -- really nice body vibrations like a mild extended non-sexual orgasm :) reminds me a lot of the feeling nitrous gives me at the right dose :) ah nitrous, how i miss you. i may have to get some ez-whips one of these days for old time sake and go to that place.

Thanks for those durban just the right amount for my garden will definitely germ'em in the next few months. I like both sativas and indicas... as long as they're strong :) anyway i've heard a lot about durban in the past but never got around to ordering it. What's it like?

Thanksgiving was good... came home and interestingly not long after the power went out in our room... went out and the power was on in the rest of the house except for the grow room as well... reset the breaker and it's been fine since but i turned the a/c off... i think it has issues it's been putting out quite a bit of water from the exhaust and has the area around soaked with puddles. there was a period a week or two ago where i forgot and left it running all day on ON... oops.... since around that time apparently it's had this issue.. guessing it may just need maintenance... but.... last thing i want is someone coming out here like that, and it's winter... if there was only a window or something in the flower room it wouldn't be a big deal... daughter is supposed to be leaving next month before christmas, but not believing that until there's a ticket. i may have to buy her one just to make it happen... anyway if they could go in the room they're supposed to be in i could move everything in there and do it up like I want and there'd be no issue with having service people out (as long as they don't need to go in that room, which there's no reason they should it's not near the a/c... unfortunately the grow room is right under the a/c unit and the veg room is right next to it... on the bright side, my ozone generator arrived yesterday i am gonna break it out soon but it's high output so should solve the odor issues. If I could get it up there in with the plants in the right room I'd be golden.... golden.

So what really sucks is that the flower room is on the same circuit breaker as my bedroom... wish i knew how to do that level of wiring, but my electrical skills are pretty rudimentary.

Watered big red today her first water in flower.... about a week since she was last watered which is exactly what i look for... although it's been hotter as usual in the flower room so that may also be why. Was great because i looked in and just saw the very bottom fan leaves drooping a bit, went over and checked and sure enough she was dry... so I got her at the perfect time -- right when she for sure needs the water but before she has any negative effects. She got about 2 gallons with a little metabolic bloom and calmag (to adjust ph down ;) )

Other girls are looking very much the same... chunky NHK and apollo droppin it like it's hot, adventure mix girls looking pretty good, little cheese and one NHK very light/immature... the big cheese buds are just starting to fill out a tiny bit.. they look full on sativa to me looks like a throwback 120 day skunk pheno. The sparkle also very light looking but i've got her a lot closer to the hps now with some supports so she's getting better exposure and it seems she is filling out a bit more than before. It basically looks like 2 plants are going to be done in 2-3 weeks, 3 plants in 4-5, and 4 in 6-7. Only problem is everything has to be cut 3.5 weeks from now that is not going to go at least 5 more weeks... really I think anything that isn't done in 3 weeks is probably going to need 5 though so maybe that's a good thing. So there may very well be a january harvest (other than big red) after all since some of the december girls are actually gonna be january. There is 0 chance the very light ones are going to be done before end of december they look like 3-4 week plants instead of 6 weeks.

I'm really thinking now that I've had a light leak for the last few weeks since the last full week of october when my UV lights arrived and I put the second timer in... I know for sure there was for a few days because I caught it and I attempted to make sure all those stupid push down things on the timer were 100% down, but the one that was on felt like it was down to me, so.... i shoulda gone out and got a new timer then for the last couple of weeks i've been wondering if there were any other times when it came on when it shouldn't... finally replaced it with a digital timer saturday when I reworked the flower room.. so now I KNOW there are not lights coming on during dark hours.... it would explain a lot of that second timer were popping on for 15-30 minutes during the middle of the 12 hour dark cycle (like I caught it doing). Would definitely explain the nanners and why many of my december plants look like they're so immature and why my harvest came in so light (couldn't fatten because no continuous 12 hours)

On the bright side, assuming that the light leak theory is actually correct, it means i should expect dramatically better results in the next harvest.

I'm pretty sure I did.. But my memory is shitty due to extreme B12 deficiency...
What's causing that owlman?

Hey guys! HC, i have malabsorption issues in my digestive tract. I eat like a horse, but can't get over 147lbs. It also has caused a pretty bad vitamin D deficiency.. Even though I am always in the sun. On the plus side, I'm down to less than 7% body fat again, and getting ripped, as I have been trying to at least feel better through exercise. :)Hope all y'all had a groovy turkey day yesterday!

I haven't had much time to browse the forums lately but I'm going to be keeping an eye on this one for sure!

I'm probably chiming in a little but late but I'm using the 720w chrome and the footprint covers a 4x4 nicely at about 24-36" through growth and stretching periods and then 14-16" when in flower.
