Want to ban guns?

With respect, UB: his interpretation has tons of historical context. The logic would lead there if it was a continuum argument. If you invert it, you get "nukes are bad, so ban guns!" It doesn't work well in that direction either. cn
governments were a lot different back then, it's pretty clear what they meant by the security of a free state. no one is saying to ban all guns, that's not even possible. something along the lines of a well regulated militia would do.

in fact,1 armed person has stopped a school shooting before. The principal had a .45 in his car.He took the little mf'r out.If everyone (or most everyone)carried a firearm, these freaks wouldn't have the nerve to attempt their cowardly acts
nonsense. a determined killer would just get bigger guns and better armor. that's escalation in the wrong direction.

I think they should make it to were you can't have a gun unless you have served time in the service and discharged honorably and passed a hunter safety program.

We've talked about the meaning of "well-regulated militia". I would expect nothing less from you than to try to bend the semantics to suit. It's part of what makes watching your trollguments such fun. cn

On what basis? Would you deny me the right to carry a defensive insurance policy? cn

Ha ha ha. you said "trollguments"..
If you have put time in service you know more on how to use one and the responsibilities that come with and perhaps get the chance to see a senseless loose of life or two.
I find it funny if you have a mental problem you can get a gun and if your a felon not??

Well yes. I said that to UB.

I did not serve. Does that mean you'd consider me carrying to protect myself unsuitable? How/why? cn

Ya know whats tough to do. Convince a vet with PTSD that he shouldn't have guns. My brother lost his shit almost 20 years after the fact, from the things he saw and did. Just being a vet doesn't mean you should be armed though I don't know any that aren't with that said.

And have ya ever seen some of the munitions on a Rez?
The zipperheads in the reserve would blush.

"The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so"

Why do people keep making multiple threads when they know there's already like 10 others they can go in already? Jfc.
