War

Any war between Russia and NATO would mean the end of Kaliningrad and Poland would not wait for anybody's approval to attack the Russians through Belarus if Russia were to attack the Baltic states. Kaliningrad and Belarus would be gone to Russia and there would be popular support in Belarus for a new democratic government. They might even try to get a piece of the Russians through Ukraine who would be NATO's instant ally. Expanding this war would be a very bad idea for the Russians who are stretched to the limit in Ukraine, trying to hold on and keep from falling apart internally. Yet they are doing stupid shit like this...

They probably want to sell them mine sweepers, the UK is not at war with Russia and should be able to sail through and then reflag them in Ukraine. No formal war has been declared by any side, but we have war nonetheless.
All I know is Turkey is a "ALLY" not a ALLY
For the first time, Ukrainian Female pilot flew an F-16 Fighter jet

Bastrykin became interested in the lack of heat in the Moscow region
The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered to check the facts of restrictions on the supply of heat to houses in the Moscow region. This was reported to the Main Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for the region.

“Investigators are checking all the facts of restrictions on the supply of energy resources in populated areas of the Moscow region <...> The progress and results of the checks were stated by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Bastrykin,” - it says in the message. Residents of the Moscow region continue to publish information about the lack of heat in their homes.

Earlier it was reported that hundreds of residents of the Chekhov district were left without electricity and heating in the cold. According to local officials, heating points have been set up throughout the municipality.

Russian media: Blackouts reported in Moscow following energy facility fire
A fire erupted in a substation in Russia's capital on Jan. 4, causing electricity and heating outages in dozens of multi-story buildings amid freezing temperatures, Russian media reported.

The cause of the fire has not been reported. The incident took place only a few days after Russian attacks against Kyiv Oblast left 260,000 Ukrainian citizens temporarily without power.

The Russian Telegram news channel Mash reported that the fire erupted at a substation in northeastern Moscow at around 6 a.m. local time, causing outages in the municipal districts of Otradnoye, Bibirevo, as well as Northern and Southern Medvedkovo.

The temperature in the affected buildings had reportedly dropped to 10-15 degrees Celsius. According to Russian media, the night of Jan. 4 was the coldest in Moscow since the beginning of winter, with the temperatures dropping to minus 27.1 degrees.

At around 8:46, Mash reported that the fire had been extinguished and utility workers were working on site.

Most houses were switched to a backup circuit, the state-owned news agency RIA Novosti reported at around 9:10 a.m., adding that some 40 buildings will be connected within the next two hours.

Substation is on fire in Moscow: Three districts without water, electricity and heat
Afire broke out at a substation in Moscow, leaving three districts of the Russian capital without power and heating, according to Telegram channels Baza and Mash.

A substation on High Voltage Drive in Moscow caught fire, leaving residents of more than 20 high-rise buildings without heat and light.

"Several fire crews are working at the scene. The cause of the fire is still unknown," report the administrators of the Baza channel.

"Around 6 AM, a transformer substation on High Voltage Drive caught fire. It supplies power to buildings in Bibirevo, Otradnoye, and Medvedkovo districts, among others. The duration of the power outage and partial heating remains unknown; utility workers are trying to eliminate the accident as quickly as possible," Mash channel reported.

According to the administrators of the Mash channel, the temperature inside apartments has dropped to 10-15 degrees Celsius during the historically cold temperatures for the capital.

Currently, Moscow is experiencing a temperature of -24 degrees Celsius.

In 2023, drone attacks became more frequent in Russia. Fires and explosions occurred as a result of these attacks in various regions of the country, including Moscow.

Earlier, we reported on a fire in Moscow at a hangar with diesel fuel covering an area of about 1000 square meters.

There was also information about a fire that broke out on the territory of the Moscow power substation Chagino. Reports mentioned thick smoke and a transformer explosion, as well as 120 liters of fuel.

It was also reported that Electrozavod factory was on fire in Moscow on December 7. The fire started on the first floor of the paint and varnish workshop located in the factory producing reinforced concrete products and metal structures.

There go the water and heating pipes... In Ukraine they probably have a plan to drain the water in buildings if the power goes out, they also have a lot of donated generators and have made a lot of woodstoves, experience helps too, and they have been preparing more than the Russians.

There was another article showing frozen pipes with ice dripping due to the substation being repaired. I used to work on buildings with steam and hot water heating. Getting the boilers going is just half the battle.

I just had to post this one also.

The United States recognized the advantage of Russian tanks over their NATO counterparts
Russian modernized T-80BVM tanks showed their superiority over German Leopards in the special operation zone in Ukraine. This was written about in the American Military Watch Magazine.

“The T-80 gas turbine engine <...> provides a serious advantage in maneuverability both over other classes of Russian tanks and over all Western tanks [including Leopard],” says in the material . The article noted that the M1 Abrams has a similar engine among NATO vehicles, but the American tank has much worse energy ratios by weight than the T-80.

Earlier, retired LPR Army Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko said that NATO equipment often stands idle at the front, because can't cope with some tasks due to weather conditions, reminds Pravda.Ru. In addition, foreign media recently wrote that Russian troops destroyed the best examples of military equipment provided to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance, TV channel 360 reports .

I hear the Russians are winning the drone jamming war in places on the front lines in Ukraine. Perhaps this drone offensive on Russia would help to move jammers and AA systems back home and thin them out on the front. There are mixed reports about the electronic war affecting drones with advantage passing from one side to the other. Ukraine does have America Europe and free Asia at its back though with expertise and drone parts and I suspect lots of money from intelligence services black budgets for small drones at least. The CIA would be derelict in its duty if they were not helping with the drone war using their large black budget and influence, ditto for the other intelligence agencies. These folks are smart and can see the impact that these cheap commercially available drones are having or could have, especially with a shortage of expensive shells. I mean 10 or 20 million bucks could have an enormous impact destroying billions in Russian equipment and seems right up their ally.

Maybe it's past time to pass that Ukrainian funding? A new NATO member not showing confidence in America to have their back in case of trouble. With funding for Ukraine, they won't have to worry about Russia, for a decade and perhaps for good.

As I stated, fund Ukraine and they will take care of Russia for a decade or more. Russia is screwed, their oil production and transport infrastructure is frozen and in decay and they won't get the capital to revive it, even if they had the customers. It's safe to say at the rate Europe is going green and EV they won't be buying energy from Russia again and in a decade most places won't be buying much oil and there should be a glut and competition to sell it while they can. So once Ukraine destroys the Russian military and their irreplaceable equipment the threat should be greatly reduced. Vlad will be behind his borders licking his bleeding asshole while the Russian economy continues to disintegrate and the society decays.

With war on its borders and unreliable American allies, Trump is leading in the polls, and he promised to immediately leave NATO and might not wait to leave the alliance as required. Congress recently made this hard for the president to do however and that might have been in response to European concerns. Even if he couldn't leave NATO right away, there are thousands of ways he can help the Russians and stab Ukraine in the back. He would be a dictator from day one though. It is unlikely to happen, but Europe must prepare for anything with orcs at the gates and full-scale war on its borders.

We will follow the instructions in our Constitution where we must honor even votes for people who disagree with the policies and actions that our own representatives are taking. Maybe its time for other countries to take into account that the US is going through a period of time where we are not a reliable ally and press forward with their own agenda.

At this time our Congress is divided and we have to deal with that first. Sorry.

It looks like the Europeans are dealing with it. They must prepare for any eventuality, and it might be why congress passed a recent law that made it impossible for the POTUS to pull out of NATO without congresses say so. I personally don't think it's a possibility, but I don't have a full-scale war on my borders. Joe has inspired a lot of confidence though and if he is reelected, he will inspire more, Vlad might just pack up and leave Ukraine if Joe and the democrats win in November. If Trump is disqualified the attitude should change a bit.

Have you ever wondered just what a KBG agent is capable of ?

Fiona Hill, senior director for European and Russian affairs on the US National Security Council from 2017 to 2019, believes Putin looked at the US and the world in disarray and decided he could do whatever he wanted: “Because we were just a bunch of idiots. And he’d exploited and stirred everything up in 2016 and we continued to be oblivious. We were all running around being very high on ourselves, full of it, and we were just gone from the scene.”
