Always wear goggles when working with soil, especially dookie. If you work with a lot of it, it's a good idea to flush your eyes as you go.

Hey Dr.Pecker, thought I would message you here since you do water only, which is something I wanna do. I didn't wanna use those blue fertilizers and I think I have just read TOO much and am now painting myself in a corner here. What I have in my garage right now is a super soil (not sub-cools) that I have made. It's about a week away from being "ready". My questions are:

1. When I mixed my soil and watered it I never once found a layer of Mycellium on it. It also never really got that hot, it was like "warm" for a day or two and now it's just the room temp of my garage which is mid to high 70's. Does this mean I did something wrong? My ingredients are as followed:
INGREDIENTS: 1-1-1 mix of Ocean Forest ( I won't use this again I'll just buy Sphagnum Peat or Coco Coir in the future) Perlite & Earth Worm Castings. For amendments I used 4 1/2 cups TOTAL of a mix of Alfalfa, Kelp, Oyster Shell, Neem Seed and a few cups of Azomite and about a cup and a half of Dolomite (pelleted). I wet the mixture and threw a tarp over her and every now and then I water it and mix it around. Will this bring me all the way to flower? I dont' wanna use synthetic shit, I never did. I am brand new at this shit and thought Jack's was gonna be ok to use. I'm not down with stuff like Blood meal or Guano's b/c they don't seem to be sustainable and I don't want to support that industry. Am I on the right track? Will I still need a PH tester?

here is the stuff I mixed into the ffof soil,, its made by them, and the instructions on the bag give the ratio for ffof right in the instructions,, couldnt be easier,, mixed it right in before planting, and I also added the garden lyme,, it adds all the neccasary cal mag they need , and then just water the whole ride,,, not only just water,, right out of the tap, ffof,, especailly with the lyme added has a super ph buffering strength,,,

I've been looking for somebody to say something like this. I am, for the life of me, confused why people would say FFOF DOESN'T take you all the way to flower. When I read what's in it, it all looks pretty damn good, almost like Sub-Cools mix! I feel like if I added some Dolomite and Fruit and flower to OCean Forest and filled half the container with that and put Happy frog on the first half of the container I would be set all the way to flower. My plant looked fucking fine till I added some bull shit blue ferts to my plants and now I am regretting it so much right now! Ugh. Live and learn. But what I am asking you is, you REALLY get all the way to flower with just those 3 things? I am starting to think this industry has a lot of "snake oils" then, that I am just learning how to avoid.

What i would try to do with a super soil is add whatever it says is on the bag of the base soil your're using. you can add other stuff to it to beef it up. Bloodmeal is great to use, feather meal takes a really long time to work, I wouldn't use the bat guano though because they destroy whole colonies to get it. You might be fine with it being dry I've heard of people still getting good results not the best but still acceptable. Its best to lay all the soil on a tarp or in one of those kiddy pools and spray it with water to moisten it up a little. You don't want to add too much water because it can cause it to generate anaerobic bacteria but you need enough to activate it. What I did was mix everything up and put it in a trashcan for a month, dumped it back out on the tarp, mixed it again, moisten if you need to then back in the trashcan for another month. I'm calling it a night, I'll be on tomorrow.

I wanted to add something before I forget. After adding everything to the super soil you're making a soil concentrate, so you might need that promix to cut it. I can plant directly into mine but it will burn the plant a little. You're using different stuff all together so we wouldn't have the same results anyway. Lots of good folks in this thread that can help you out. Good luck with it and keep us posted.

Yea, I wet that mix down and have been mixing it every now and then. I was just wondering if you think that mix will be good enough to bring me all the way to flower? Maybe some compost tea and top dressing to help a bit? Soil is about a week away from being able to be used. So far, I am not liking the idea of PPM's and PH'ing water all the got dang time. I just wanna water so I think I'll stick with my original intuition and go all organic using my soil. I have "Teaming with Microbes", so I am learning about all that jazz. Hmm, I have only used Jacks like 2-3 times max and it was the low dose. Is it too late to go BACK to organic? Just top dress with Fruit and Flower and use an aerated tea to get the microbes back up? Or is it all synth for this plant now? :(

You've already stated flowering that's why I suggested you just finish what you're doing first. You can try to rinse all that crap out but it will set you back a little until the microbes build up. Leaching the soil will also leach out the amendments in the soil so you will likely need to add those back in or at least some. That book explains everything.
