I have a couple of fancy Tony Lamas I picked at the factory store in El Paso. Those are for dancing, only. These cowboys come in and order 4 or 5 stitch lines and 3 leathers. Then they can't pay. If you can find your size you get a fancy boot for less than an ordinary Lama price. I've ostrich on one and some kind of lizard panels on the other.thyem boots are pointed so they go into a stirrup easier. your modern "cowboy boot" is really just a clownish exaggeration and an affectation.
i wear engineers boots usually, since i got wide feet (4E) and a high instep, but i used to have a sweet pair of custom cavalier's boots that i dearly miss.
pointy toes dont bother me if the fit is good, but most "cowboy boots" are made for poseurs and city nancies, so they run narrow as a motherfucker, just like nikes.
if your chosen boots or athletic shoes dont come in sizes and widths to accomodate real men, they arent really for athletics or for cowboys.
For horse back, I'm in English knee boot or motorcycle boot for Western according to the saddle.
