Looks like your experiment worked. Congrats!
I go some fem pollen going myself on an outdoor plant right now.

After spraying for 2 weeks and seeing nothing i wrote it off as failed, 3 weeks into flower, balls and pistils everywhere

I noticed the balls 4 days ago and it's like they just suddenly appeared. I'm glad it worked out - no more buying seeds for a while
