It’s been a busy week : Replaced the final rotten raised bed (4’x10’x20” deep). Pulled up all the damaged chicken wire and ”yard staples” holding it down. Dug out all the sod around the ”fenceline” and getting ready to put new chicken wire down and then fill in the area with woodchips. Weed-whacking around it is a constant pain in my ass, it tears up the wire and let’s critters in, and grass grows through the mesh making it all look like shit after a few months. This is more work now, for less work later. Also topped all the beds with a mix of compost and native soil, mixed in some more peat/verm/perlite, added some builders sand, greensand, about 30 pounds of rock dust, and 25 pounds of dry amendments. Hobby? Problem? Obsession? What’s the difference?
I tried to buy green sand locally but not one nursery in the three nearest towns had a clue what it is, same thing with azomite . I can’t believe not one “ professional “ even knew what either one of those are.

Your amended soil will make a helluva difference.

Made an appointment for my 16 year old Dachshund's last trip to the Vet at 11:30
Hillbill is so fucking sad, but she couldn’t be herself anymore.
Kidney disease and seizures
Her sister litter mate is deaf and don’t see well, they have never been apart.
That really sucks buddy. I feel you, we have an 18 year old cat that’s going a bit senile and pissing everywhere. It’s almost “that time”, but it’s literally my wife’s emotional support animal.

Got some new heavy duty shelves for the garage. “Fixed” the tool racks on the wall. Previous owner used no anchors and short screws and it was pulling out of the drywall. I put in a piece of wood and secured it to the studs, then screwed back into that.

I’ve been doing some flooring for a few people… kinda a side gig for some quick cash. Been putting in 10-12 hours on saturdays. Last week I laid just under 400sf. and the backs of my legs hurt till wednesday, today I laid just over 400sf. I can’t wait for the pain to out last the pay check.

I took Augie and Ripley to " Birdseye Hollow " today ". It's a vast wetland area with huge natural ponds in the middle of nowhere. A great place to go " birding " . The hounds just love bushwhacking through the fauna and muck , noses to the ground all the way. My ass is whipped .
