Wallace, Clinton, Carter and the Longs were Dems, the south was a solid Democratic block until recently.

This reminds me of @TacoMac getting all bent out of shape when I pointed out that in the late 90s when the southern Democrats pulled up their stakes and purged the voter rolls leading to 20 years of Republican rule in Georgia.

There's been that thought.
Both he and his cousin John, (the Baptist), were thought to be Essenes.
A Jewish sect. Very Orthodox. Lived out in the desert. About 2000 to 5000 people.
Hated the Romans.
Every now and then one of them would head to Jerusalem to preach.
Cult-like fashion. Implore the people and the religious leaders to "Return to G*d and Torah.
Usually with the same results.
