to wildlife, especially blue herons and ducks. They are tiny, maybe an inch long in a crouch. There is a slough behind my property and there must be thousands of them chirping away.

They are too cute to kill. Later on, when the slough dries up the frogs fan out and I find them everywhere that is out of the sun and moist. My compost tumbler always has a few. It kind of makes me squeamish mowing the lawn.
