jewish, you may make some good connections at temple.

i am agnostic but i enjoy reading taoist & hindu scriptures. it's more of a philosophy than a religion.

if you want an organized religion, your choices are more limited.

just my opinion. i personally don't buy into all that crap.

you don't just convert to judaism.

you have to be born a jew.

you need jewish descendants, it is a religion which one of it's core beliefs is that a certain group (jews, the sons of Israel, which was the son of somebody else in the bible, are the chosen people of god and it is god's will for them to do as they please in the world).

you don't just convert to judaism, there needs to be a whole process, baptisms, and even then you are not considered part of the church.....

you had to see the rabbi b/c yo LIED on the application, and said you were a jew just to get better food. not because you actually were a jew.

and if you don't have jewish blood forget it. you might as well be a bomb-strapping arab.....

Wow being a JEW and living in Israel and America, I say your words are untrue. You can convert, afterwards you will be accepted only by your sect_ Orthodox, Conservative, Reform. We do not do baptisms that is for Christians. I have many of JBC's( Jews by choice) and we love them as any born Jew or not. Take your wrong information and replace with truth please. I do not want lies being told about my people. Thank you

nuff said.

JBC's???? there's a term to differentiate them and everything???? do they sit in a different part of the church too?!?!?!

makes me sick. religion should not be used as a tool to divide.

It doesn't matter which religion you choose, each fairy tale is directly copied from the same Pagan sun god Horus. Every one had 12 disciples, they all roamed the land performing miracles, they were all crucified, and they were all resurrected.

So IMHO, if you're going to become a blind slave to someone's made up story... I'd find the Church with the hottest chicks.

The term JBC came from Jews who converted. They gave themselves that title. We are forbidden to treat anyone differently so no, they sit with us and everything.

It was the traditional way to test the sincerity of the convert. It is not much followed now days! You my friend make me laugh with your addiction to matzah ball soup!

I like how mormons have to buy special blessed underwear, and scientologists have to buy special blessed water, both with a high markup. That's a sure sign they know the right way to "god" is unrestrained capatalism, greed, and a high markup.
I didn't know this, do you think it means Mormons panties smell different?

My Rabbi seemed to have a differing opinion and was happy to help me when I decided to "become Jewish"

bokononism, thats the way to true happiness. It teaches that all religions are lies, including bokononism, but if they make you a better human being why not believe them?
(Ps. it is a fake religion from kurt Vonnegut in his book cats cradle)

I'm really just looking for a church I can go to to meet good people to socialize with. The unitarian thing actually sounded pretty good.

I hung out with Rastafari's but found the scene to be racist
says the guy who wants the ex grand wizard of the KKK to be president and believes that the KKK was a significant positive force.

unitarians would not like you much based on what i have heard from you. they are too rational.

why go to a church to meet people? it seems like too much effort to me. gotta sit there and listen to some old geezer whine out nonsensical hyms.. i would go to the dog park or the library, more people there. church goers are usually very provincial. are you writing a book about church-goers or something? i seriously notice that at the second of the mention of the word God, my head just takes off in another direction. i was reading this really long blog before and then the person started saying something about "I believe in god and that he made a path for me", it was like whoa, i can't read this load of crap and i felt like i had wasted my time reading the previous part because i sort of lost respect. isn't that awful?

i should really keep my thoughts to myself LOL. needless to say, i didn't continue reading.

Because I want people in my life that love God and not a bunch of wicked sinners who have an aversion to Him.
