Day 46 still: I killed 2 males today
Well, decided to kill off the 2 males before it does damage to my surviving female. Cut off all the stems and leafs and stored them in a paper bag. What can i do with all these male leafs and seeds/pollen? I was thinking cannabutter, or drying the leafs in the oven an smoking them.
Emptied the reservoir of my female, increased nutes to 400ppm (female seems to be eating up the nutes, my ppm was down from last time)
When my Dutch Master Reverse arrives next week, I will apply the spray to the leafs of the female plant to help ward off any male/hermie tendencies.. I don't want my only female to get ruined.
On the plus side, I just cut down my labor by 2/3rds over the next month or so. However, I was thinking of starting another 2 plants but within the same grow space. So from seedling, the plants will be getting the same light/cycle as my flowering White Widow. 12/12 under 400watt HPS bulb. Any thoughts?

Hey madhatter, I use Reverse/Penetrator and I use it at the very beginning of my flower cycle and 10 days later. It is probably too late to spray your last lady...sorry to bring bad tidings, bro. protopipe1

What results have you gotten with the Reverse/Penetrator? Does it really prevent males/hermies from forming? I got a lot hope for this product.

I think that heat stress might have caused your 2 herm. I just got a 600 watt digital HPS that I keep a good 12-18 inches away from the canopy, and I had a 400 watt magnetic ballast b4 that I had 12 inches away.
Some strains are finicky and they don't deal well with heat stress well at all (for example, I had 2 Ghouse Great White Sharks and 2 Blue Moonshine and I was experimenting with a thermometer that would turn my fans on and off at certain temps, and it fried the 2 GSW and the 2 BM were fine.) It is very different from one strain to another.
Also, your nute strength is way too weak. I just put a seedling in my waterfarm today, and my first feeding I gave them 5ml Flora Micro, Grow, and Bloom. I slowly increase the amount to when I flower and I use 30ml Flora Micro and Bloom, 10ml Flora Nectar, and 10ml Liquid Koolbloom. I up my Nectar and Koolbloom to 20ml when I see that they are doing well with that dosage. In weeks 5-7, I replace the Koolbloom with AN Overdrive. Then 2 week flush. I had always been sceptical of all these yield claims, but my Lowlife White Russian yielded close to 4 ozs. and my Lowryder #2 gave me close to 3 ozs. (5 day dry in herb dryer + 3 week cure and stems removed). Freakish growth in these waterfarms with optimum conditions. I had read threads where growers were claimimg high yields with autos-I thought it was bs. Boy was I wrong! Sorry to write so much, but I have a lot of experience with four harvests in the waterfarms and I was helped by others with experience. So now it is my turn. Any quesions, I will be happy to answer. protopipe1

I find the growth rate in the waterfarms to be impressive too. Although I have nothing to compare too other then other people's journals

I did suffer heat stress several days ago... before my plant started showing its true sex. Lights were around 6-8 inches from the tops. I always used the hand test (place hand where tops of plant are, and if my hand is uncomfortable so will the plants be). I will try keep the lights around 12 inches with my female.
As far as the nutes go, I suffered serious nute burn when plants were seedlings. When I transplanted from hot house to waterfarms, my ppms were over 600. Since then, I been very cautious with nutes. Although, I seem to be upping the nutes now every 3-4 days. Was 300 ppm 3 days ago, now 400 ppm.
Next top off, I will go a bit more aggressive.
Would it hurt to spray my leafs with the Dutch Master Reverse anyway, when I get the product next week. (I had already ordered it when I freaked out about my hermies/males) I figure why not.
I'm only using the FloraGro, FloraMicro, and FloraBloom. Also using Drip-Clean to keep hoses clean. I was thinking of picking up that liquid Koolbloom too.
My plan is too baby this last female, try and get the most buds I can from it. I'm also thinking starting 2 new plants, from seeds, in the same grow chamber ( i have no other grow space). The plants would be under same cycle as my flowering Widow - 12/12 400 watt HPS. Could I grow another 2 plants in these conditions?

go ahead and toss the seedlings in there in 12/12 cycle. it wont stress or anything they will just flower when they are ready, think about making solvent hash with those males its pretty simple. heres a link for you

hey man im on my first grow goin on three weeks into flowering too, mines just started showing pistils all over the nodes and at the very top on the sides of my soon to be buds which are just starting to open, mine has what looks like seed pods too but every day what i thought was a "seed pod" is two new pistils in the morning when my lights turn on, so i wouldnt trash em yet bro, just wait it out and as soon as you see actual football like shapes hanging down or what seems to be buds forming with no hair and just little balls, then you got urself a male or a hermi so jus wait it out another week and watch close and keep postin pics, best of luck that it turns out to be a full fledged female

fkn' awesome link man. I'm definitely gonna try this when my trimmings from the males dry out. I'm glad to hear that I can grow 2 new seedlings even under 12/12 400watt HPS. I have 2 more seeds leftover from my feminized White Widow pack - I will start them this weekend in the hot house.
thanks for stopping by! I've got my figures crossed with this female. I too am noticing pistils growing out where the nodes are on my plant. And so far, no balls on this one!

It is important, due to the variabilty of the nutes needed in different strains we grow, to monitor the plants condition every couple of hours (especially after each nute feeding). If you see signs of nute burn just add water to bring down the concentration of your nute solution. Trial and error is the only way to learn how different strains react in your specific conditions. When I add nutes, I increase gradually, 5mls at a time. You got spooked and then you overreacted by limiting nutes. That is a normal reaction (I was a noob one time too!). I would add the Koolbloom, and you could try the Advanced Nutes Overdrive. I definitely had a yield increase with the Koolbloom, but it was nothing at all like my last grow when I added the Overdrive for two weeks before flushing. If you can imagine mj on steroids, that is what it looks like daily with shocking transformations(and I was a skeptic about blooming nutes, not now!). I always like to let others out there know what really works, as there is so much misinformation out there. I tripled my yield with this grouping of nutes.
And to asnwer your question, no I haven't made any mods (as I haven't had issues at all with growth...except trying to keep the plants from bursting out of my tent!). The only real maintenance needed is to take out the drip column and use a piece of wire to unclog the air hose. This system is amazingly effective and yet simple! Over the next few grows, you'll dial in your system with your Widows, and you won't believe the consistent yields your girls will deliver!! Let me know if you have any other Qs, bro! yes, title says it all... today i did not even bother to open up my tarp to see the plants. Would of been wise too, since I did up the nutes yesterday.. but fatigue, stess, working a double, and smoking weed made me lazy. I have faith in my lady however. Also, Family Guy episode #420 rocked.

That is a long-ass day workin' a double shift...and when you get high...it is hard to wanna do anything. I killed 4 Kushberry seedlings after I got baked on bubble hash, and went to bed thinking I had already added water to the tray. When I woke up the next morning they were dried out really bad with no chance of saving them. When you get a chance, post some pics 4 an update. protopipe1

Checked on female plant today - she drank a gallon of nutrients since i last checked her 2 days ago. PH seemed stable around 5.8, and PPMs were down to 320 (from 550).
Emptied and cleaned the reservoir, added fresh nutrients (3 - GH series, FLoraGro, FloraMicro, FloraBloom) with emphasis on more FloraMico/Bloom and less FloraGro at this stage in flowering (week 3 of flowering)
I upped the nutes again. From 550ppm to approx ~700ppm. PH 5.6-5.8 Added Drip-Clean to keeps hoses clean.
She's looking really good, about 29 inches in height. More white pistals shooting up in clusters at the nodes. Leaves look nice an green, tips pretty good too.
In taking your advice protopipe1, I orded a quart each of GH's Liquild Koolbloom, AN's Overdrive, and AN's Final Phase (for flushing)
I plan to start the plant on Koolbloom over the next 2 weeks or so, then follow with overdrive. Does that sound right? I'm in week 3 of flowering right now.

Your girl looks great...much better, now. It is amazing how much water they drink during flower. The upside with the small res size is that you don't go through your nutes as quickly, but you have to stay on top of keeping them full. Small trade-off IMO.
You will do great with the nutes you got. The last 2 feedings, I gave my girls 20mls Overdrive. After that flush to 2 weeks. You won't believe how much the buds fill out...you will see for yourself with that Widow!
And some people put there plants (especially white strains) in 48 hrs of darkness, and then harvest.

Well my order of Dutch Master reverse and Penetrator came in yesterday afternoon from BGHydro. I should be getting my Koolbloom, Overdrive, and Final Phase nutes tomorrow or Friday.
Checked on plant today. Has grown to 30 inches now. I checked the FAQ section on Dutch Master's reverse... It can be safely used up to weeks 4-5 of flowering.
I figured it couldn't hurt as a preventative measure... wouldn't want to see any balls later on.
Decided to apply a coat of Dutch Master reverse w/ Penetrator to plant. Even coat on leafs, till runoff occurs. Will apply again in 10 days.
Checked reservoir - plant drank over a gallon over the past 2 days. PPMs were down to 450, PH had risen to 6.5. Added fresh tap water to reservoir. Increased nutes to approx. 780ppm. Adjusted PH down to 5.5-5.7.
Will change out reservoir and add the liquid Koolbloom when it arrives this week.

looks good man, those supplements will help out. I used AN big bud and it did good. Most of this crap is bullshit but some supplements really work great. I think powder koolbloom might be better than overdrive. Im not sure how overdrive works. I think it just keeps your plant real healthy during final flowering but i dont think it help it mature? Anyway man she is looking good, keep it up.

Plant looking good. Plant height is 32 inches. Lots of bud sights showing up. Existing bud sites starting to fill-in.
