Actually Lacy, a fascist is a dictator, who controls with an iron fist. They claim everything they do is for the good of the people, yet it is really for the good of the party they represent.

Think of Napoleon, Mussolini, Hitler, Pol Pot, Saddam, and a couple others. Communists and radical muslims are perhaps a special kind of fascist. Republicans and Democrats all make slam remarks about each other, and call each other fascist. Sort of a modern day version of being politically incorrect.

Well thank you mockingbird.
I just learned something new this morning.
And to think I just thought all these guys were plain assholes.

Either way, they ALL must be very insecure people to feel the need to manipulate others in such a way.:? Very sad.

I never come into this section but the word caught my eye.

Thanks guys.
Have a nice day and be nice to each other.

A comprehensive study of the present ruling class would make one tend to believe that fascism is the order of the day:

Fascism, especially in its early stages, is obliged to be antitheoretical and frankly opportunistic in order to appeal to many diverse groups. Nevertheless, a few key concepts are basic to it. First and most important is the glorification of the state (jingoism) and the total subordination of the individual to it. The state is defined as an organic whole into which individuals must be absorbed for their own and the state's benefit. This "total state" is absolute in its methods and unlimited by law in its control and direction of its citizens.
A second ruling concept of fascism is embodied in the theory of social Darwinism. The doctrine of survival of the fittest and the necessity of struggle for life is applied by fascists to the life of a nation-state. Peaceful, complacent nations are seen as doomed to fall before more dynamic ones, making struggle and aggressive militarism a leading characteristic of the fascist state. Imperialism is the logical outcome of this dogma.
Another element of fascism is its elitism. Salvation from rule by the mob and the destruction of the existing social order can be effected only by an authoritarian leader who embodies the highest ideals of the nation. This concept of the leader as hero or superman, borrowed in part from the romanticism of Friedrich Nietzsche Nietzsche, Friedrich Wilhelm (frē`drĭkh vĭl`hĕlm nē`chə), 1844–1900, German philosopher, b.

No I had youi beat a long time ago, I just don't have the time to engage you over and over. You see I actually work for a living.
See, there you go again with the personal stuff. What's up with that Dankster?

Glad to see that you're working again though. What's the job this time ... Rocket scientist working for NASA? Economic professor at Harvard? Architect employed by the Emir of Dubai? King Crab fisherman in the Pacific NorthWest? Pit crew chief for a NASCAR operation?

 ~lol~ ... Show me the post where I "lied" about how good I'm doing selling houses. Find it if you can.

The housing market in California has sucked for the past two years. We are seeing a little movement now though. So, hopefully, things will start breaking loose this spring. A word to the wise ... this is the time to jump into the housing market again. Interest rates are near historic lows. For those with good credit, there are some fantastic loan programs being offered now. Inventory of existing homes for sale is huge ... so the smart sellers are willing to make some very attractive concessions in order to get their homes sold.

So Dank ... are you still off the cigs? Hope so ...

We all know the signs of Fascism. Armbands, Insignia, lapel badges that identify people as "one of us" Flags. Lots and lots of flags. And Patriotism-That "last refuge of the scoundrel" Lots and lots of patriotism. An all powerful Police and military allied to an influential and well organised industrial elite. And War. Lots of War. On everything. Next comes Conscription Which a fearful population accepts.

theres a bit of social engineerig to round it off.
Well, forget the flags, slogans and banners. The communists are fond of these things too.

Nah, you hit the nail on the head with your social engineering comment. The fascists are telling us what we can eat, smoke and breathe. They are telling us how large our toilet tanks can be and what kind of light bulbs to use ... and not use. They are telling us how much of our income we can keep and take the stance that ALL income belongs to the fascist-socialist state. They tell us how we can and cannot discipline our children. They tell us that our children MUST have a federal taxpayer I.D. number from the time they are born. We cannot start a business, get married, drive a car, hunt, fish or own a firearm without their permission. There is NOTHING they don't want to tax and regulate ... including every facet of our personal lives.

Well, woe is me. I'm pretty sure you live your life without any major life threatining government interferences, you that live in a wealthy onclave of So.Cal. So stop your bitching and just enjoy your wealth, oh woe is me, woe is me, you are rediculous.

Yes, I forgot about that one. This is something new that's coming down the pike. And this is nothing compared to what its gonna be like once these thieving bastards get a hold of our medical systems.

"There is nothing wrong with your thermostat. Do not attempt to adjust the temperature. We are controlling your power consumption. If we wish to make it hotter, we will turn off your air conditioner. If we wish to make it cooler, we will turn off your heater. For the next millennium, sit quietly and we will control your home temperature. We repeat, there is nothing wrong with your thermostat. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to... SACRAMENTO!"*

In other words, everyone in California will not only be treated equally, but heated and cooled equally too ... whether you like it or not!

KUDOS to the Dankster. :)

Nicotine is so freakin' addicting and such a hard habit to break. What ever you do Dank ... don't even take a single puff of tobacco. Its like heroin ... the mind will take years to forget that habit and one cig will get you started again.

Amen. I developed a distinct hatred for all things tobacco. That is what has kept me tobacco free for 12 years. I did the same with drugs. If you want to be rid of something, develop a strong dislike and it will help. Also disassociate with those that still indulge. It's harder with tobacco as there are still a few friends and relatives that smoke, but I wont allow it in my house or automobile, take it or leave it. You can always go outside to smoke. As for all my old drug friends, gone forever. Drug friends are usually not that good of friends anyway. I did have some good friends that mostly smoked pot, but 40 years of moving from place to place and developing other interests have thinned the crowd considerably. In fact, quite a few of them have died.

Med ...

I was a two to three pack a day smoker. Quit in 1972 and never looked back. One hard MF habit to break. It was at least ten years before I stopped reaching for my nonexistent pack of cigarettes in my shirt pocket every time I was stressed.

Congrats to Dank!!!Keep it up, I have always hated cigarettes!!

I never smoked cigarettes in my life.
I started smoking cigars about 15 years ago. I love to get ripped on some nice buds and then kick back and fire up a fine aromatic premium cigar.
I think that the difference between cigarettes and cigars is quite dramatic.
Instead of cigars controlling me, I control when and where I smoke them. I do not think that this is the case with cigarette smokers; the cigarettes seem to enslave the smoker.

The last cigar I had was a Hoyo de Monterey Governor after Thanksgiving dinner...

This is off topic but I have just fired up two bowls....and my mind is floating....
