Humans are animals and they fullfill very similar social heirarchies in much the same way using different methods... take for example how every generation seems to have its own form of rebelious music over its predecessor, all the music is different but the rebelion is the same. There will always be a term that means "I can call you whatever I want and you can't do a thing about it, try me" word, now if its used on specific people or on anyone its onlydue to how that generation disperses its sociological hate. The hate is part of the equation, just gotta direct it more productive in future generations. Like just about all adults along the chain of civilization, i just hope this current state for our young americans is the rock bottom of any generation.... I can still hope.

Yeah seems like they're getting progressively worse, but that could be due to the great increase of communication available to them. When I was a kid things were a lot simpler (although it was only 12 or so years ago), but now with MySpace and cell phones we can see all the bullshit kids do that we were previously more ignorant to. But I wouldn't get off thinking that this is a necessarily a bad thing. This exposure can help us fix some fundamental problems with our society that were previously shadowed and allowed to go on without a big reaction. Now that this Palin girl has said some hateful things, and thanks to facebook we all know about it now, we can address them and hopefully our younger generations can understand how she was in the wrong (by adults negative reaction) and grow from this.
