Its offensive because the race is included. instead of saying "you are trash" you say "you are *race* trash" meaning "Not only is your race inferior, but you are inferior within that race." regardless of what race is used. sure its really just a "fuck you" more than a "I dislike your race" like much racism has evolved (wrong term? adapted?) to today. For example, the racist edge would be added if instead of saying "you are stupid" I said "you are a stupid *race*" and suddenly the inclusion of the race makes it racist by spirit. Its derogitory, and the days of "we can do that to you but you can't do that to us" are over in the western world now that all people when not treated equal are immediatly labeled as wrong.

Look Buck, I respect you although we disagree about most things. I was skimming through some of these threads when I saw the title "You can't cure white trash" and thought this looks interesting. When I saw what your panties were in a twist over I must admit it surprised me, even coming from you. This is a desperate attempt to cast the Palins in a less than flattering light. I know that you are a liberal/progressive and I also know that you don't have much love for Sarah Palin. Hmmmmmmmmmm, why would UncleBuck make a thread about a 16 year old daughter of the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate, calling someobdy a "faggot" on facebook? Let me ask you this; how would it make you feel if I started a thread that said "You can't cure Jew trash"? First off, I would probably be banned pretty quickly and you would, no doubt, be offended and upset with me for doing it. I totally agree with you that Willow was in the wrong for doing what she did but it's pretty much a non-issue. What did you hope to accomplish with this thread? Were you being ironic to prove a point or something? Just because you deem the slur to be not as offensive as another doesn't change the fact that you made a thread bitching about some 16 year old girl calling people "faggot" and in the same sentence call her "white trash". I don't find certain slurs to be that offensive probably because I don't fall into those categories. Perhaps "white trash" isn't as offensive to you and many others but I know for a fact that it is offensive to some people. You say "well gay people can't change who they are so faggot is therefore more offensive". How about this? These poor white folks that you seem to loathe so much are usually not that way by choice. Most of them are born into poverty. I'm sorry, I just fail to see how it is not ok to call someone a "faggot" but it's OK to call them "white trash" for using what YOU deem an offensive slur. I'm going to stop beating this dead horse now because it's obvious you and I aren't going to agree on this.
