White trash is offensive? I'm white. Is Black Trash offensive? Probably. But to argue over who's "category" the word falls into is ridiculous. Who gives a fuck if it's derogatory?

Most words like fag, cunt, bitch, shit head, asshole, douche bag, dick head, cock bitch etc.. are all offensive to someone...but you don't sit and argue with them as to why it is offensive do you? No. Because it's fucking pointless. It all comes down to PERCEPTION..if someone believes something is or isn't offensive is all based on their opinion....

You are all right....white trash is and isn't derogatory, hurtful etc.. unless you think it is. Then it is. No one is going to win this argument.

So let's all eat some rice-a-roni and shut the fuck up...mmm K?

Simply pointing out the hypocrisy. How can someone be upset at a 16 year old calling someone a "faggot" on facebook and in the same breath call them white trash? Truth be told, I don't give a fuck about any of these slurs. I personally try not to call people names because I think it's incredibly immature and I am not into offending people. Seriously! How can someone get upset about someone else name calling and then turn right around and do the same thing? What's the most fucked up part of this thread is that the OP doesn't see the irony of his own post, and I know Buck to be very intelligent!

Yeah yeah a word is just a word. Old argument that is not what people are talking about here. There are meanings behind those words and usually a message. When somebody is called white trash it is their actions which are being called out, when one is called a faggot it their identity which is being attacked. But you're right, if you smoke a fattie and decide to not communicate or tune in what people are saying it all doesn't matter. Fabulous.

So let me get this straight, you are saying that somebody being called white trash it is because of their actions and somebody being called faggot it's their identity being attacked? lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I stole a stop sign once only to go back the next night and put it back. Stop signs save lives. Take down the sign and someone could die. Without being judgmental, stealing stop signs could be bad Karma.

I stole a sign that said "No noise in public park" I was more than happy to steal that sign.

It's been mentioned a couple of times and this is what it's all about. If someone perceives a name being called offensive, then it's offensive. Would that be a fair assumption?:leaf:

Part of communication is understanding how your message will be perceived (look I can type without big fonts). It's pretty obvious to all what her message was and why she would use that term in that way.
