If there are plenty of jobs why is unemployment so high?
Because most Americans don't want to wash dishes or cars, they don't want to be janitors and food pickers and busboys. Why? Because busting you ass for 50 hours a week and still not being able to pay your bills isn't the american way, we have higher expectations. Still, living in a house with 10 other people, working like hell for meager wages, away from family and fiends in american is still better than living in Guatemala.

I don't think I ever said that at all.

What I am saying is that people use SS#'s that aren't theirs quite often.
when it comes to illegal immigrants doing that, it is most usually so that they can work. they end up paying into medicare and SS and will never see a dime of it back.

The IRS requires a claimed dependent have a valid SSN, AND, that SSN can only be used once per year, keeping divorced parents from both claiming the dependent on the same year. Go ahead and try to claim one without it and see how fast it gets rejected.

''illegal aliens and non-resident aliens have gained cumulative millions off our taxpayer money. According to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), in 2011, the IRS sent more than $46 million in tax refunds to 23,994 "unauthorized" alien workers who all listed the same address in Atlanta, GA. The Atlanta address wasn't the only one that received millions in tax refunds housing thousands; there were actually four addresses in Atlanta and six in other states that were issued anywhere from 1,846 to 23,994 tax refunds each. The TIGTA audit report was published last year at the request of Congress and exposed a problem Washington has been aware of for the better part of a decade.

Exactly why america is in trouble.
People have to get off their asses and do whatever it takes if they like the job or not.
We all start at the bottom and work our way up the ladder.

then get off your ass and get up the ladder so we don't have to endure your bitching about how hispanics can afford "fine seafood" at the grocery store.

not everyone starts at the bottom by the way.

I had a few of the jobs listed above and now own a business.

I don't care what ethnicity you are but buying fine seafood with FOOD STAMPS is bullshit.

I think we are getting muddled and sidetracked here. Obviously identity theft happens, but in the context of sending illegals here to overwhelm the system when the 'system' (in this case the IRS) is being defrauded much more by it's own citizens I don't see this as a strategy that could possibly pan out in their favor. We are our own worst enemies when it comes to this stuff.
So if tax fraud is already occurring among the 330 million (by the way, it's not just under reporting income to qualify for EIC, it's also claiming kids that they don't have) then another 20 million with a much higher incidence rate doesn't count? How is getting undeserved EIC credits (cash payments) not " a strategy that could possibly pan out in their favor."? When the IRS comes calling, it's to the door of the person's whose identity was stolen,. Your whole statement was a cleverly concocted pack of lies.

Most Americans have done that work. A growing minority think "Because busting you ass for 50 hours a week and still not being able to pay your bills isn't the american way, we have higher expectations." You expect others to support you. That isn't higher, that's disgraceful.

Pretty sure I included more than just EIC.

"Or just flat out under reporting income. Or the billions of other ways people scam the IRS."

Now back to the motives. How does a S. American government benefit from an illegal collecting tax fraud money in the US? Do they give their tax refunds to their home countries government? Explain it to me. This isn't a dig, it's a serious question.

I fail to see how this achieves their 'goal' as explained in this thread.

If a country really wanted to burden the US, wouldn't they do like Castro did and send boatloads of crazy, violent criminals to our shores straight out of their jail system? Seems to me that'd be much more effective.

Now on to the IRS knocking on somebodies door.. I'm willing to bet it's the other way around. Citizens whose return was rejected on the basis that they've already filed would likely contact the IRS themselves pretty damn quickly, don't you think? I know I would.

A joint press conference was held yesterday by Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Guatemalan president Otto Perez Molina to announce their agreement to jointly cooperate in and facilitate the invasion of their northern neighbor, the United States.

Labeled “The Southern Border Program to Improve Passage,” it is an official effort on the part of Mexico and the nations of Central America to invade the United States.

You read that right. Check the masthead…this is NOT The Onion.

The agreement provides a network of border checkpoints through which an internal Mexican travel document will be issued, which is valid for a period of 72 hours. That document, known as a Regional Visitor’s Card, will provide temporary legal status to those in Mexico illegally for the sole purpose of invading the United States – completely bypassing Mexico’s immigration laws, which as Michelle Malkin has detailed, are among the toughest in the world.

The announcement, officially granting the “privileges” to illegals from Guatemala and Belize, applies to anyone who reaches the southern Mexican border with the intention of invading America.

Almost unbelievably, the joint policy will also provide financial assistance to unaccompanied minors — in effect paying them to invade the United States.
