Same thing goes for PK13/14 regardless of the cost (canna 'invented' it, others needed to create something similar to prevent losing customers).

(1) I think of the roots as a pump and the less energy the plant uses, pumping the nutes 2,3 or 5 ft high the better and that's why I like them short and bushy with thick stems (don't know if I am right or not)

(2) yer that makes sense, There is very little green material at budsites for photosynthesis compared to the large fan leaves, just like your main shoot only had a couple of fan leaves and it looked good, would be good to find out why it tends to go like this, loads of fan leaves in veg and a few in mid/late flower at the top of the canopy seems to give you the largest buds


I am not an outdoor grower and didn't know you get popcorn buds at the bottom of a plant even when there in direct sun light, maybe the plants not getting enough nutes/water so the lower fan leaves /bud sites suffer and all the energy is redirected to the top of the canopy.

keeping plants short and bushy under 2ft tall tends to yield 3-5oz's per plant, often without any popcorn buds, don't know why
I was guessing popcorn buds was down to the light as this often happens when you grow plants without enough light ( seen so many threads on this lol )

keeping the light close to the top of the canopy has always resulted in larger buds

will start reading up on conventional gardening or horticultural book

It's about company X wanting you to spend your money on their products by claiming you need the specific flower formula they do offer and company Y doesn't. Not necessarily about getting more money from an existing customer (that's what additives are for ) and no the cheap no-nonsense nutes bottle at company Y does not cost as much as some of the cannabis specific veg+bloom nutes.

leaves need c02 and light on the fan leaves so if the canopy too thick a lot of fan will not get light and co2 they need so by removing some fan leaves from a thick canopy its going to help by increasing airflow

cost about £70 for 1 bottle of each + soil for 4 crops ( 1x 600whps and 4 plants )

Thats about £20 a crop for nutes and soil

thats cheap i spend more than that on rockwool
i normally buy the 10 liter size for £50 it lasts for 3 or so crops
it works out half price that way than buying it per liter
