I forwarded that info on the local roofers union to my buddy. Hopefully he'll do something with the link, but probably not.

He wanted to do my project with me, I told him the job was his if he showed up, guess who didn't show up? Guess who's mad when I talked about paying for labor?

BTW he's white, but I might be considered Mexican in some willfully ignorant circles.

Also, moving right along, I found a bunch more rotted out shit and way more to do! Whoopee! I'm running out of money so fast that its better if I just don't think about it. I'm almost to the point of having to dedicate my 'grow room' budget to my 'living accommodation' budget.

Oh well, got a lot done today.

Damm man dont sell yourself short over a felony , ive got a much worse record than you & had a fantastic career in construction that took me all over the world .

You really should get away from that scab company you work for now , get yourself an education in the roofing trade , learn industrial roofing systems & techniques & get yourself a Journeymans card in the trade .

Once you learn the trade & get your card you'll never be out of work again , after you finish school you'd be knocking down $1,500 a week plus a kick ass pension & $5k to $10k a yr vacation pay .

Roofing is a highly skilled trade that pays well but shingling is the lowest skilled & lowest paid part of the trade , shingling is a job where roofing is a trade , you should really give that company a call & get started tword a career where you do make big money .

Of those roofers I've had contact with, they all said they get paid by the square. Is this not the industry standard? They seem to prefer it that way. But every roofer I've ever met was an alcoholic, too, so what do I know?

Just for clarification calling somebody who installs shingles a Roofer is akin to calling somebody who only installs pvc plumbing a Plumber .

Industrial & commercial roofing is extremely complex , especially on huge factories that only have 1 roof drain every 200 square & complete tapered systems are used to make water flow uphill to a drain point .

Shingle installers get paid by the square , Commercial & industrial roofers get paid by the hour .

Good shit man roofing aint easy thats fosure, heres a valley leak on a double layer took one off put one back new flashing to took me and my partner about 30 mins its 3 storys up so hand nailed everything
