Shameless no doubt.
Good on you for keeping it real gg. eatum' up.....:P

If I was AP I'd separate myself from jimmy pronto and let the lights and GROWERS do the talking. Starting to wonder..

Actually kind of sick of what this forum has turned into. From helping people and GROWING...repeat...GROWING...into a f@cking COB advertisement. From optic, a company previously hawking cheap chinese crap no less. Morals showing up in their advertising.

Ahhh well...concentrate on whats right in the world and continue to give my cents....:P

I know some of these sellers just looove my opinion.

p.s. have a nice day and yes I did capitalize growing....:P

I didn't.. And don't..

But opinions change as people change

I have my own strong opinions, on cobs and their worth, among other things. So when I see hype, and I'm not sure the hype is totally warranted I question it

I thought I was doing the right thing? Showing what the units I bought with my own $-Could do! That's it. It took me 25+years to get the knowledge I have. I hand in out like tick tacks to people that need it on here. For nothing in return. I give more than I take!

looks like the cobs may be too close to each other on the 4cob panel. 2-2cob panels is probably better in every instance i assume.
Ive got a four cob optic box. i think you are right. The 360 light would be a better value if it were stretched out. Im addressing this opportunity by extending the structure and adding 2 cxb 3590s to pontoons on each end.

I have no questions about the effectiveness of the basic optic 360 light. it grew large, ripe, potent flowers for me, first try.

what temp u got? 360watt in a 17in x 17in case would be just right I think! there considering sizing the 200 watt box up too 7in x 17in! I told em about what I thought the 360 should be and he didn't say nothing back!

4k, flowers were really superb.

The pontoon cxbs are 3k @ 50w x 4.

Agree 17 x 17 would be an improvement.

i think an optic vero 360 could be 20 x 20" and with no lenses and highly reflective environment would maxout one or two plants in a 28 x 28" with good training and ~12 / 14" canopy to cob space. (assuming vero 29s emitting 80 watts)

It should be clear to most here that GreenGenes and I are both entering into a new market of lighting and that we are naturally poised to compete with one another in any necessary fashion. I'd like to think that we can both be joyful of the fact that we're leading the way for this market in a noble manner and not in the same way some money-hungry companies do, who, on the contrary, lack any real roots to their customer base.

And as for Jimmy, he's been my dedicated consigliere; please don't second guess him after cheering for GG, as it makes me wonder...

I can see your frustration with the advertisements, not only the paid ones that pop now but the ones for Twilight, Optic, and hell even my own HB. I admit that I've put my brand out there not thinking about other's opinions but at the same time, if you have something to offer to others, who don't know a whole lot about COB lighting, that is something they're looking for, whether they know it or not, aren't you going to raise your hands and say LOOK - I got what you need!

I think it was @robincnn who said in a different thread that reflectors dropped total light output quite dramatically through the buildup of heat (reduced COB efficiency) and that lenses most likely followed the same trend.

Can you take and leave off the lenses from the Optic fixtures?

ya you can easily remove the lenses. On my last grow i had plants of very different heights. I lensed 2 cobs to match the (lack of) height of one plant. The other taller plant was under bare cobs. It worked out.

Actually, I more than second guess Jimmy after his recent show...

I'm all for supporting companies, but their product is only a part of the picture. I only would support those that have their act together in all aspects.

Jimmy been jumping up and down waving his hands yelling since a few new cob choices were announced

As they say... It is what it is..

Consumers won't win until there are more choices available, which is inevitable. Even though optics price range isn't horrible, you should get more for your money. I see a $100 labor job....

When you can get optics price with real features and a non bandwagon/repetition salesman I'll be a bit more polite in my review

Hate me or love me.... There is multiple sides to a story on a open forum

I do see a lot of companies calling themselves growers... Only a few actually strike me as real old school underground. The rest kinda look like fakers....

I quite take the point that there's a danger the LED forum could turn into an LED advertising forum. Perhaps there are enough posters like you who will push back hard enough so the advertising stays within some sort of acceptable limits. I hope so. Some of the other forums I went to seeking info were pretty lame in that regard.

I came here a while back to learn about which LED lamp to buy. So I really appreciated seeing opinions on the lamps that were available. But it didn't take too long to see that it would suit me more to make one. So the forum served 2 purposes for me - sorting through commercial choices and then how to do a DIY. So I for one like to see that there are new(er) and better commercial choices being discussed so the next ignorant guy like me can see what's good and what isn't.

As for the commercial choices themselves, I'm not sure what your saying. POS, about GROWERS and old school underground. I love it when someone who has knowledge, skills, passion, etc. becomes an entrepreneur and brings a new product to market. But it's the quality of the product, the innovation, the sales experience, the after sales support that really matter in the end. Whether that comes from a young guy like AquariusPanta or someone better known on the forum like GG or a company like Optics or Area 51 or maybe even some of these hapless Chinese outfits, it's those things that really matter, no?

And perhaps it would be better if Jimmy were a bit more restrained, but then I'm not Jimmy and maybe he's just naturally very enthusiastic about the lamps he's using.

I go to sleep and wake up and my thread about opticlights is alittle astray. And the first thing I wanna say to defend myself is I am a passionate grower and I do love my L-E-Ds baby! What? because 2 quality LED companies took notice and want there lights over my girls and they want me to show everyone what there capable of? I know there will always be haters, but all is fair in love/war! The optic and heavenbright units are high quality and produce very good results! Ok! so You cant pick the product apart? So u wanna kill the messager? Like I said before! I have exp! a lot of it! I dedicated 25 years to this plant! This next year will have heavenbrights and optics blowin them girls up with Veros and a lot of em! in the next couple months. I wish I could get a youtube chanel up, but I don't have the time to take care of it right now! I love having to prove my credibility/skill set! Make you a better person in life!
