Think of the credits more as a commodity. Think CBOE. Think spreads, like butterfly or straddles. Think hedging bets. That is what the World Bank is trying to achieve with this carbon credit auction. And the proceeds are going towards helping finance underdeveloped countries. That being the key point, so I'm a little lost on how they will become very powerful. Neither CBOE nor NASDAQ are all that powerful.
