Hey Robin, in a small closet tent (2x4) do you think the difference in heat produced running 3 Vero's @80w and 4 Vero's at 54w will be a factor worth considering or simply negligible? It would actually end up being 6 Vero's@80w or 8 Vero's@54w in that tent. Thanks.http://www.digikey.com/catalog/en/partgroup/vero-29-array-series/43475

Hey Robin, what would you suggest I do if I want to increase yield over efficiency using the Vero29 V2 in regards to the CRI's?@Danielson999
2x4 = 8sqft
6x 80 watts gives 480 watts
8x54 watts gives 432 watts
I would be more concerned with the heat from this extra 50 watts and not so much with the extra heat due to efficiency. Depends on your setup so can't help much. You can always dim them if too much heat.
I used two 80 watts in 2x2 Ta 68F
Lights on temps around 78F. So heat was no issue. I had to add extra heatmats in winter.
Summer temps should be fine too
Both these configs are over 50 watt per sqft.
Dawg used invertronics that powers 80x4 veros
320watts/8 = 40 watts/sqft is also good.

Efficiency impacts total light output. Total light output impacts yield. Spectrum is important too.Hey Robin, what would you suggest I do if I want to increase yield over efficiency using the Vero29 V2 in regards to the CRI's?
Ok thank you!Efficiency impacts total light output. Total light output impacts yield. Spectrum is important too.
You are asking if 90cri has better spectrum.
I have not seen the SPD for 90cri vero 29. Nor do I know LER for 90 CRI version or the complex math. Only a few(not me) can do the math if any if any info were available.
Given limited info I would put money on 80 CRI as high CRI are usually less efficient.
You get 14% more lumens with 80 CRI 4000k 137lm/w compared with 90 CRI 4000k 118lm/w

I think one...Anyone know how many Vero 29 a lpc 150-2450 fire?
Correct only 1Anyone know how many Vero 29 a lpc 150-2450 fire?
Robin, what would you recommend for a driver on Mouser (thats in stock right now, I need EIGHT that I can run 4 Vero 29's V2 4000K CRI 80's at 200W? Also, I will be running 4 CPU coolers with fans on them, so I'll need power for that too. Suggestions?Correct only 1
Driver 31V ~ 62V , Vero needs 39-40V for this current
with 1750 it can run 2 Veros
note that this driver is 180-305VAC. It will not work on USA 120VAC

https://www.rollitup.org/t/heatsinks-for-diy-led-lamps.851907/Hello there Robin,
I have been lurking for a long time, Iv'e made a few DIY LEDs with the cheap dodgy ones on Ebay. I just recently received my LEDs and other parts. I have a question for you ( I know everyone does) but you seem to be the most knowledgeable on the Vero set-ups.
I have 4 Vero 29s powered by a HLG-120H-C1050B. The heatsink is from heatsink us and is 5.886" and 27" long.
My question is : Will I need to mount a 12v fan to cool this or do you think it will be able to run passively?
I will be ordering another 4 Vero Leds soon, is there a better driver I should be looking at?
Thanks in advance!
Also i don't mean to thread jack, I didn't see the need to open another thread on this,,,,
Use http://www.findchips.com Search for HLG-240H-C1400.
Mouser has 3 in stock. HLG-240H-C1400 would be a over 200 watts. around 220
For fans i use APV-12-12. it is 1amp supply. Any 12 V power supply should do fine. Add up current on all 4 fans and make sure it is less than or equal to rated current of 12V driver.
https://www.rollitup.org/t/heatsinks-for-diy-led-lamps.851907/
260*27/144=48 so good for 50 to 60 watt passive. but you are near 150 watts
You will need a fan. I would add a 120mm or 140mm fan
If you want to run at 1050ma with 4 vero 29 then you have a good driver already. You can consider HLG-240H-C1400 or HLG-240H-C2100 if you want to drive your veros harder.
Use this sheet and the attached calculator. Good luck.@robincnn
What would the numbers look like in a 2x4 tent with 12 or 15 Vero 29's running at 700ma. For simplicity sake I was thinking about 2 fixtures with 6 cobs in each running off an HLG-120H-C700 each.
6 cobs x 24.9w = 149.4watts per 4 sqft = 37.35watts per sqft.
Could you help me figure out the efficiency and PPFD for this setup? I'd like to base it off the 2 fixtures with 6 cobs in each but I might consider adding a strip of 3 more just to boost the numbers if need be. View attachment 3603752
