Dont buy the blackstar LEDS
I bet not, although I will say now that I have no idea. There are more specific threads for your question, where knowledgeable people will respond.Heyo. looking at (24) cxb2530
I found Supra's chart matching amounts of cobs to drivers.
Can I assume the same numbers as the 3070 go for the 2530?
if youre about to drop 2000 on a 5 cob setup, you most certainly need to do a bit more homework. to put it in perspective im about to assemble my rig and it took me MONTHS of studying, learning, asking more questions, repeat, revise, redesign, repeatIm about to drop 2000 on a setup.

Can I run the hlg-185h-c500 at 700ma? did you mean the Hlg-185h-c700?not really, you need to :
-calculate the current you are gonna run them at
-determine forward voltage from that
-multiply voltage by number of cobs
-check that against drivers max voltage
go to http://pct.cree.com/dt/index.html
eg.2530 @ 0.5A = 34.92V
24 x 34.92 = 838V (yikes! id cut that in 3!)
8 x 34.92 = 279V
HLG-185H-C500 can handle 400V (in reality 279 V aint the best fit for any driver at 0.5A)
but lets try 700 ma
2530 @ 0.7A = 35.78V
8 x 35.78 = 286.24V
HLG-185H-C500 = 286V
perfecto!
(i personally wouldnt recommend the 2530s. time you put all the work in you lose the 'savings'.
get some veros or 3070s, both are much more efficient)
USD$45.99 for the 3000k chip and holder, doesnt seem too far off average. not that I'd take my advice on this subject.
Instead of paying $45 for a CXA3070 and holder, I'd go for the newer CXB3070 and holder for a less expensive price through PLC
Select the drop down for 1 3070 + 1 holderI am confused. on my screen it is saying a price of $ 8.99 us. what am I missing?
