Interesting that most people are focused on their personal agendas and how the news reported supports/defeats them, but that's what you get when you trust mass media.

I want to hear from those that were there, and the outlet that seems to have the most of that type of content is here.
Why doesn't HuffPo or WaPo have this stuff instead of the vicitm's survivors saying how horrible it is?

I don't think there can be a more credible account of what happened than someone who was there vs. a media bobblehead saying, "Reports are in that......" or "It seems we lost our feed" when a witness starts saying something that doesn't fit the narrative of the news (which happens suspiciously often).
It's why when friends want to talk about the latest tragedy I usually say, " I don't know since I wasn't there, neither were you, and neither were those talking heads that report on this. Let's hear something from people who were there, what they have to say about it, and ALL they have to say about it and then I will form an opinion."

Terror/gay centric or not, it was a crime.
People died. It just happened to be in a gay nightclub (but that doesn't make them all people there gay. Many's the time I've gone to a gay club following the girls who just want a place to dance. I probably wouldn't have if I didn't have gay friends that could pretend to be "my man" should I get hit on too hard, which happened exactly once.)
Gay or not, they were people.

Let's focus on the people killing people part and how to stop that rather than the methods that were used.

For those that want to tie this to gun ownership, car bombs and suicide vests are made out of illegal explosives and used to kill innocent people in numbers like this all the time and the illegality of those explosives doesn't stop it from happening.
Would this be any less horrific had it been a suicide vest or car bomb?

IMHO, If you want to do some REAL damage to the gay community, dose up on some Doxy, Cipro, and Kaflex and then take a coke/anthrax mixture to the club and be "generous".
Bet the body count would have been much more prolific (due to bodily fluid transfer after the indulgence) but not nearly as immediate nor dramatic as I known very few gay folk who don't turn into a Hoover once cola appears.
