You appear to be labouring under the misapprehension that you have any clue what the law is. I would suggest reading Gonzales v. Raich.Which can be shot down easily by a SCOTUS guided by the constitution and the will of the founders as not pertaining to interstate commerce.
Tell us about the 10th I'm not familiar..Thankfully we have the tenth amendment...What the fuck do they have? The SCOTUS will be forced. Who cares about Sessions? Of course they are going to review it did Obamas team not?. The previous president sat idol (whoops) while hanging out in Napa and the Vineyard acting like the tenth doesn't exsist when he knows full fucking well what it means.
Cali will jump ship if they fuck around and I really don't think they want that.
The constitution will prevail.
Sounds like selective states rights to me..either they have them or they don't.Sessions has made a policy, and that policy is that legal weed in certain states is in violation of federal policy regarding illegal, Schedule I substances.
In the meantime, Democrat Tulsi Gabbard has introduced legislation into the House designed to remove weed from Schedule I, enabling research, legalization, and investment and banking in the product.
I agree.I love the legal opinions. With a court stacked you lose. Nixon is a pussy compared to sessions. Sessions hates it because he's a god fearing redneck. Nixon hated the hippies. I was there.
And I would bet $50 you're wrong. I'll post a SS of sending you the money via paypal if you're right about this. The Republicans aren't gonna completely shoot their 2018 election chances to hell by going after legal weed. They have nothing to gain from it, and everything to lose in the Arena of Public Opinion.Too late. I'm betting the neighbor $50 that there will be no weed in August of 2018. Last day of the month.
I'm putting $$$ down on opinions contained in this thread. Let's see how rich I get. If I win, I'm buying more weed with the winning funds.
A large number of Trumpians believe they'll shoot their re-election chances to hell if they don't go after legal weed. Part of Trump's coalition are criminalization proponents, all mobbed up with CCA.And I would bet $50 you're wrong. I'll post a SS of sending you the money via paypal if you're right about this. Honestly it's not even in the top 10 things most Trumpsters are concerned with. I go to various conservative minded gun forums, and only a small minority of zealots really care about stopping legal weed. Most think it would be stupid for Trump to crack down on, and it would be a waste of resources.A large number of Trumpians believe they'll shoot their re-election chances to hell if they don't go after legal weed. They aren't calling the shots. Big Pharma, CCA, Sessions, and America's brewing companies are. And we all know Republicans love money (not saying the Democrats don't). But this is what you get when a corporatist regime takes over and puts Jeff Sessions in position as the national cop.Honestly it's not even in the top 10 things most Trumpsters are concerned with. Well surely the leaders must realize that public support simply isn't there for a crackdown. Look at the numbers. Something like 60% of the public want legalization, with another 15% or so in favor of medical mj. The people in our govt might be corrupt, but they aren't stupid. They must realize what a crackdown would do to their reelection chances in 2018 and 2020.They aren't calling the shots. Big Pharma, CCA, Sessions, and America's brewing companies are. It doesn't matter what ordinary republicans want. It does matter what huge corporate interests want.
I know the feeling of hoplessness. I live in Utardia where any hope of legalization or even MMJ is pretty much dead because the 80+ year old leaders of the LDS cult think it's demon weed or something. However I also recognize that the rest of the country isn't like this. There's plenty of hope and resistance from the more civilized and progressive parts of the nation.I live in Louisiana, and it won't legalize or decriminalize anytime soon. In fact, I fear a break up of the entire country before Louisiana changes any of its ways of doing things. Still segregated down here. Still sucks down here.
Cops here are galvanized now that Trump is el presidente. They believe they have carte blanch to kick ass and take names. Once stats are released at the end of the year, I bet 2017 will show a spike in all drug arrests--and pot leads the bunch because it smells. On my daily commute, I see people going to jail on the side of the road every day (there's this speed trap on I-20). I bet most are taken in for small potatoes pot posession.
I knew that when Trump won, legalization was set back 30 years. With Sessions's position, I fear I'm correct. But it hasn't happened yet, and I hope a dispensary employee was correct back in January when he said "we'd fight Trump if he tries to shut this down."
You seem to forget that it's still a sched. 1 drug! Federal law says it's illegal! That trumps states laws - no "pun" intended!Which can be shot down easily by a SCOTUS guided by the constitution and the will of the founders as not pertaining to interstate commerce.
