Underground Potential?

also, not to shit up your thread, but do you have any friends in the electrical field? if you hire someone, breaking ground to bury wire/conduit might result in that electrician having to pull a permit from the town office depending on your local ordinance.id want the least amount of eyes on that project if i was in a non-friendly state.that sounds like a decent size room,id want a big sub panel.not sure how many lights you plan on running, but the dehumidifier,i personally would have on its own circuit, lights too,on their own circuits.the size of the subpanel in that room is going to be determined by how many breaker openings you have at your house panel.which brings up a question, how much free space do you have in your house panel? are there breakers in every spot in your home panel? if so,your project just got a little more complicated.gl
not more complicated just more dollars lol fuck the permit shit sure he got buddies he needs a 100 amp subie in there dig the trench buy all supplies have buddie hook up,op seems bright enough to take it from sub panel, saying this not noing what main panel looks like u can jam 200 amps into 100 amp box long as u don't use more than 90 amps at any given time,i have a 100 amp main 50 goes to my out building run the house on the rest witch is well over 75 amp but h\w an dryer r gas

i agree on the 100 amp sub, thats exactly what i was thinking too.if he hires someone, technically a permit should be pulled.i agree with you, fuck a permit lol.youre right,op seems bright and im sure he has friends in the field that can help.with no electrical knowledge,id want someone who has experience(not a paid electrician) helping out. i'll bow out of the convo about jamming more breakers in than its rated for lol.that shit makes me nervous.to each their own.

iam not book smart, but my common cence witch I have a boat load of, tells me I can have 500 amps of breakers in my 100 amp box long as I don't go over 90-100 amps at any given time be safe, now is that what folks call legal NOOO, been working for me for yrs now, this op is growing in one of the toughest states out there fuk the permit

I am working right now and don't have time really to respond to everyone like I want to. I will be on this evening and we will discuss it further.

I did mention this idea to my partner (close family member) he seems to know a lot about electricity, always has. I asked him about running the electric from the breaker box inside the house and he says that I don't have to do that. That on the electrical pole there is an "extra place open" to run the wiring to the bunker? I have no idea? I don't know shit about electricity.

Taking your electricity from the pole and not having it run into a energys company meter and then paying for said power is stealing from your utility company and that will DEFINITELY get you CAUGHT and JAILED. They will detect the extra energy pull and they will find it

No no no... Not stealing it. It will still be charged on my bill. Its my pole, and I have no idea what he means by running it from the meter on the pole to the grow but I will question him further and see what he means exactly.

He is just saying that it does not have to be ran from inside the house. He said there is an extra spot on the meter maybe? On the pole that we will run it from. Same place where the electric comes from the pole into my house.

Haha good one LuckyLuke. Storm cellars are very common around the area. I don't think it would raise much suspicion but I am in one of those super small towns where the biggest thing we got going for us is a walmart. You know, everyone knows everyone. I have a friend who is a retired nuclear scientist/engineer and he is extremely smart with electricity. I may hire him to do the job. We have grown a few patches together in the past.

Guys I know y'all do not know me on a personal level, but I try to be a very good hearted person, that has been through a rough history with hard drugs and other "not so good" things. I am trying to feed my karma good will, and I help everyone I can and i'd give the shirt off my back to anyone who needed it. I donate a lot to charity and believe it or not have donated several hundreds of dollars to my local electric company, mostly for fund raising and other things. So they are on my good side.

Point is, I hate a thief and i'd never steal electricity or anything at all for that matter. They will be making plenty off of me when I get my room done up and going. Lol.

I run cob led now after years of using HID, ime led wins there are plenty of threads about that tho. Someone made a good point about Hids being able to heat your space which may be a consideration for you.
How are you going to ventilate the cellar? you are going to need good air intake and exhuast which will be moving a considerable amount of air for a space that size. Keeping it stealthy will be difficult you dont just want big chimney stacks sticking out of the ground roaring with air.
Unless you plan to run a sealed room with CO2 but I would think with the moisture problems of growing underground the more airflow the better.
I think proper ventilation/humidity control will be your biggest concerns

Just run some TEK cable (at least what its called in Canada). Its used for Hot Tubs, I ran mine for 90 Feet from my house panel to a sub panel with a 60amp GFCI. Cable is good for under ground no conduit needed as it has a metal sheath under the weatherproof outer layer. Shouldn't cost you more than $150 US for the cable., wire it with 240v and 40amp breakers and 240v ballast so you use half the amps. You can also take put in a 15amp 120v at the sub panel for other equipment.

Dont get the power at the pole, the meter is at the house and you would be bypassing that and stealing. pay your bills and be safe.
