Most people are shooting for 30-35w of high quality LED per ft2. So 240w × 2 = 480w. 480w ÷ 16ft2 = 30w/ft2 and is the low end for flowering with LED but do-able according to the math.

- (6) 288
- (6) heatsinks
- (3) 240h 48b
- (3) dimmer switches

Again, shooting for (30-35w)/ft2 at least, but if you have the power I'd go for (40w)/ft2, and it seems you have enough power for that (240w × 3 = 720w ; 16ft2 × 35w/ft2 = 640w) .

With 3 kits you could dim the drivers down to 210w/each (640 ÷ 3 = 213w) and run (2) boards on each driver. That's about 105w per board and you're still getting the maximum amount of light in a 4'×4', or 16ft2.

If you only want to run 4 boards per tent, then just crank the drivers on max and use the 4 boards. You'll get more yield from using 6 boards @ 105w, than 4 boards @ 120w each. If you're not wanting to split up your boards between 2 rooms, ie, use some for a veg tent and use some for a flower tent, then I'd recommend using all 6 in the 4'×4' for a bigger yield.

If u want to run v1 boards with the 561s as hard as possible. The 54 looks like it would be a better option, but I'm not really sure about how that would work out with how the constant current drivers work.

I'm going to run 2 in series on 240h-c2100
a 320-c2800 for 2 is the best option for full power imo

I just recommended the 54a to @BIANCAADA6 and wanted to make sure I wasn't steering him wrong as I've never run 288 V2.

You ever worked w UVB diodes? Normally cheaper to do the reptile bulbs, but this looks ok huh???

I haven’t heard anything about them. Just thought they looked interesting. Wonder if the uvb diodes would even help much? If they seem decent I’d like to try em lol.

Meanwell hlgXXX-48A will adjust up the voltage, datasheet got the specific numbers. Generally the lower powered drivers adjust up more: hlg185h-48A went up to 53 from the one we tested. A type driver have arjustable voltage and onboard, down to 50% dimming. Very handy. But if you ever wanna control dimming off board, thru bluetooth, wifi or just a proper on the wall dimm for all your lights, then you want b-type, but it has no voltage adjustment.

So if you have the driver A type is there a way to know that you’re at say 25% power or 75%?

They dont go to 25, they only go down to 50%. And its not very acurate between 50 and 100, just sort of a screw in a hole on the driver, you need a tiny screwdriver and being able to grab your driver comfortably.

True to some degree. Say I get me a 48V driver and have a 48V board. Now I can turn that driver down to 50% of the nominal voltage which is 24V. How much current is gonna 48V board pull at 24V? ;)
 
This is a big problem with the A type drivers in a lot of cases IMO. you have a 25v adjustment range on your driver, but all of your boards dimming is done in a 5v range. So you really have to fine tune that little screw.
Much easier to use a digital 10v dimmer on a B type.

Mine has 2 screws. For voltage and for current limiting. It's fiddling alright tho.
