What your eyes see can fool you.
Because Orca and many other brands diffuses the light, a lot of the light goes straight to your eyes.
Thus we are thinking that it must reflect well.
But it is not true at all.

The best material is material that gives direct reflection.
Like a mirror.
So the best material to use would be a mirror.
Although it might not be the most practical. :p

What you can do is take a light meter and use it to measure different materials.
There was a Dutch grower who took this test very serious and did it in a semi-scientific way (so not relying on his eyes) and I will post some of his outcomes.
Mirror foil performed the best, so he called that 100%.
Second best was alu foil > 97%
mirror glass 3.2 mm > 93%
mirror glass 6 mm > 89%
Some radiator foils > 70 to 80 %
White paint > 63%
Anti detection foil > 60 - 62%
Diamond foil > 57%
White side of B&W foil > 54%
Orca foil > 53%

The best is to have it as straight and flat as possible.
So the angle on the incoming light will be the same as the angle of the outgoing light.
Some materials have other disadvantages such as cleaning-issues, and alu-foil for example will oxydate.

My tent is like 7x14x7. Plants usually stay in the 8' length but if I grow larger plants they might be 1-2' wider as they get bigger, but actually I have posts on each corner and my net keeps them in the 8x4 area usually.

Some stats for you @Keesje

Nutes: MegaCrop, bit of calmag, PK boost starting week 4 of flower (0-50-30)
l
I did a lot of reading about MegaCrop (they are also moving over to Europe (as you said) end of this month for those who want to buy it)

Could you give me your feeding schedule?
I mean: From the moment you put your seed in a plug till the moment of harvest, and at what point you add what additives (also brands please) and at what amounts.

I tried to find well documented grow journals with MegaCrop, but can't find hardly any that are well documented.
Or they are well documented but then the results are not that good.
You had 4 / 4.5 lbs on 4 x 8 in a time frame of around 8-9 weeks... that is good!
So that is why I am very interested in your feeding schedule so I might use it as a starting point once I will use MegaCrop in the future.

I grow from clone, but for seeds I don't feed anything until they have a couple sets of real leaves. Then 2g/G, then more as they get older. MC has the feeding schedule on the bag. Once they are clones they get calmag (any brand with low N) until base water is 0.4-0.5 EC. Then megacrop at 5-5.5 grams/G. Then at week 4 of flowering they also get some 0-50-30 PK boost (doesn't matter the brand try and get similar ratio), and I might lower the MC to 4-5 grams a gallon.

Hey Jefferson,

just wanted to pop in and thank you for linking me with the hydro store

I Ordered my 4x8 table and 80g res, should be here next week sometime.

Once these plants i have growing currently are done, i will be setting up my room very similar to yours , it seems to be a very good setup for plant counts like ours.

Time to start growing some moms i guess.

Before you already said that your lake water has an EC of 0.3-0.4. So you add just 0.1 EC in Calmag?
No, I only add enough until my EC is 0.4-0.5. Your basewater should be 0.4-0.5 EC and almost all of it should be calmag. If you use tap water, find out the EC of it and if it is too high, then use RO. If your tap water EC is low, add calmag until it is 0.4-0.5 EC. That is your base water.

Have some male flower on the lower end of some of the Inzane. There are even some almost fully developed seeds on the very bottom branches! Sucks that the Inzane is susceptible to herming, which I didn't know but heard a lot of Ethos strains are. My environment has never caused herms ever. I suspect the Inzane has some Chem lineage that is causing this. Anyways I checked and none of the tops are popping male flowers, just some of the lowers. This strain better not contaminate the rest of my table. I'm not culling any of them so we'll have to see if I end up with seeds in my bud. Bit of a bummer! I have two other Ethos Genetics strains I want to run (Citridelic Sunset and Sour OG Cheese) but if these turn out to cause seeded buds I will not want to run them indoors after all.

FYI

The heavyweight fruit punch threw a few nanners late in flower as well.

Did a little more research and seen a few other grows with same happening, so apparently this strain may also be a little hermie prone

Update day 34.

The Inzane are the taller ones at the back. GZ at the front.

Here is a female Mango that I STS treated to produce fem pollen for my breeding experiments.

And here is the Gorilla Bomb I am going to seed with it

It's also what I do, but I noticed that some people look for the first signs of flowering and call that Day 1.
That's why I asked.

Faaaaack. The Inzane has seeded at least one of the GZ. So it looks like I will have some new crosses as well as some seeds in my bud :-( Only found one so far with visible seeds though, but I notice bud production is taking a back seat, so my yields will suffer this round, time will tell how badly. Luckily I still have almost 2 lbs from my last run though.

Is this becoming a thing with the inzane?

read a few different journals/threads where guys are saying similar.

I was interested in some ethos gear but the more i read the less i like lol

Yeah I'm pretty cheesed about it. I have two other bags of seeds from ethos I am really hesitant to run them now. Up till now I've stuck with reputable breeders that don't make seeds from monoecious plants but I really liked the look the insane. I also have Sour OG cheese and citradelic sunset. Those look really Killer 2 but I don't want seeded bud..
