Why does that say it expands 2x? My promix doesn’t.Regular promix has never done me wrong. https://www.lowes.com/pd/PRO-MIX-Pro-Mix-2-cu-ft-Potting-Soil-Mix/3733135

They sell compressed bales and loose bags. Why does that say it expands 2x? My promix doesn’t.
Actually the promix HP will dry faster than the coco. Coco holds a lot of moisture, and takes about half the amount of feed to get the runoff the promix does. The main reasons for feeding/watering coco more frequently is the growth rate and extra oxygen to roots. Basically treating it like hydro with slightly higher ph. Pretty much the same can be done in promix HP is all I'm getting at.I know it’s not soil. But the reason people water so much in coco is because it dries out quick. So in that aspect it’s extremely different and the very reason I don’t do coco. I know guys who water twice a day in coco. Their yield is no better than mine so no thanks
Last bale I got I had to lug up three flights of stairs to avoid funny looks in the elevator from other tenants . So I said fk that and went to coco. Easy to bring in a brick and expand it to 40L and can be reused many times. I still have promix around, but only use it when I'm out of coco and have to plant somethingDidn’t know that. I buy them for $40 bucks I think, something like 70 gallons? Never checked to be honest. But at least my store carries it to my car for me. I swear to god every time I have to lug a bail down to my basement I think I’m gonna kill my back.
Not sure what you are trying to get at. Promix holds more water, so needs less watering.Look, I yeild more with daily feeding (usually twice daily) in coco or promix. I was getting "killer yields" watering/feeding only as needed in promix, but switching to daily or twice daily and slightly lower ph gave me an even more "killer yeild" and faster growth. Coco holds more water. Water a plant in promix, and one in coco at the same time same amount same size container and the coco will runoff more and faster than the promix. Once they're both fully saturated, the coco will runoff more and with less, and the promix will dry faster. It's not more work because i run a drip and all I do is fill a bucket every couple days. Not going to argue. It is how it is. I've done it more than enough times to know what you are saying is incorrect.
Ok... you guys just keep doing what you're doing. I'm speaking from my experience and just sharing. I can go right now and water a plant in coco and one in promix. Both are same size/age. The coco looks fully saturated, but the promix looks dryer on top. If I water them and give them both the same amount, and the coco will be first to runoff and will runoff more. Not sure what you are trying to get at. Promix holds more water, so needs less watering.
Usually water mine every 3 days or so. More frequently on older plants, and less frequently for the newly repotted.
That is a fact that i can agree withOk... you guys just keep doing what you're doing. I'm speaking from my experience and just sharing. I can go right now and water a plant in coco and one in promix. Peat has to "absorb" your water.....taking time.Ok... you guys just keep doing what you're doing. I'm speaking from my experience and just sharing. to me the whole point of soilless medium is to mimic the environment as close to possible, hydro with root zones they evolved to use. Doesn’t rain everyday in nature. The medium doesn’t need moisture replenished if it’s still moist and it doesn’t need air replenished that quick either. now you say your way worked better for you. How much better? Veg length flower length, lights and gpw would help me understand.Look, I yeild more with daily feeding (usually twice daily) in coco or promix. That is true, but not the only way to do it, and not necessarily the best either.
They sell bags for stair climbers like yourself. Couple bucks more but bailing up stairs, bump that noise.Last bale I got I had to lug up three flights of stairs to avoid funny looks in the elevator from other tenants . word. The guy at my hydro store will break it in half for me. Makes it a lot more manageable. Maybe it you ask them nicely....Didn’t know that. My ProMix HP dries just as fast as my CycoPearl CoCo.Keeping peat based medium wet is asking for problems.NEVER did my PM HP dry out like my coco.
Lifting potts is how i determine their dryness. If I lift anything over 40 lbs

U r a dum ass u can water every day with pro mix hp i do it u need to check out bill ward on you tube he does it too and his plants look way better than your plants ever couldThe 1 gallon pots is why you can get away with it. I use 5 gallon pots in main area and I'd say average is every 3-4 days once there full on blooming. I do use 1 gallons in one of my tester areas when I'm doing 10 or more in there and they suck the water down and I always end up hating having to water them everyday. Other tester area has 2 gallon pots in now and I get 3 days out of them also.
Why u scared that u r wrongI don't know, calling somebody a "dum ass" a year and a half after a post doesn't really impress me much, not a nice way to join a dead conversation. Besides, one of the nice things about pro-mix is with the right size pot you don't have to water everyday, if you want to do that why not use coco? And no, we aren't going to go check out you-tube ffs.
