No, submitting papers that are utterly ridiculous in premise and provide bogus evidence should be easily outed as trash, because they are. We can agree to disagree.I think you are looking at something that happened in a philosophy or some other social science field and extrapolating it out to suit what you feel about higher education. You act like some obscure paper is being taught as truth in a entry level college course and not the nuts and bolts of that field to open up how people think critically about the topics.
And 'Satire' is not submitting papers over and over again until you can make enough changes that you can eventually trick your paper into getting published, so that they could build a career attacking academia, that is trolling. You are ignoring that they did this as a ideological stunt and are using their results as 'proof'. Just like whatever that right wing troll who went into a bunch of planned parenthoods to film them to make them look bad after ignoring all the times that their troll failed.
I see you ignored the part that I was showing you how much of political stooges the math guy is when he capitulated instantly after correctly identifying structural racism in our society when the youtube host said that isn't racism. That is the problem with what you are saying is the case, that these are 'proof' of anything, they are evidence, I can buy that. I don't have a issue with critically taking a look at the soft sciences, I am a STEM guy myself and am pretty confident I can bullshit a paper into publication if I had the inclination to be that unethical. Which I do not.
Also it is not about 'pride' that I don't listen to the Joe Rogan podcasts. I won't let his or Dana White's political bullshit to ruin a sport for me that I care a lot about because they decided to wade into the political placating of the MAGA crowd.
White grievance is mostly bullshit, unless you step up and start to admit the attack on our society that is currently being conducted by the Russian military. Do you see a lot of lowest common denominator training of people to be called 'racist' or to snowflake when being called 'racist', yes of course.
Does the online trolling make its way into real life all too often, and become a cudgel to end conversations? Of course it does. That was the intention. And it worked beautifully for Trump and Putin, and our worlds vulnerable to the hateful messaging by the Russian military online fell for it hard.
Does any of this take away from the very real prejudices and racism that women, minority, and non-heterosexual people in our nation have faced? Not in the least, and deciding you can dismiss entire fields of actual study because a couple well educated trolls is just willful ignorance.
